Synopsis

Air carrier Captain reported performing a high speed rejected takeoff when ATC cancelled the takeoff clearance due to a conflict with landing traffic on another runway.

Narrative

ATC gave us a line up and wait clearance RWY XX in anticipation of our release time to ZZZ and also advised of Airbus traffic on final for RWY XY. Shortly after; we received a takeoff clearance and began a full length takeoff RWY XX as the cables were down. The FO made the 80kts call and I could also hear the Airbus on frequency announcing a pilot initiated go around RWY XY. ATC called us immediately Aircraft X CANCEL TAKEOFF CLEARANCE". I made a quick scan we were at 100kts with over 9000ft of runway remaining. I felt safe with complying with ATC instructions so I announced and executed an RTO (Rejected Takeoff) as instructed. ATC then instructed us to make a 180 on the runway; back taxi full length RWY XX. I advised him we had just executed a high speed RTO and needed to park somewhere we could contact Maintenance Control as well as the Company and best case scenario we might be ready to depart in 15 min due to brake cooling. We set the parking brake in the hold bay for [Runway] XX. I made an announcement to the passengers to remain seated explaining the situation. I then asked the FO for the RTO QRH. Once the QRH was complete I referenced FOM requirements. I called Maintenance Control and asked the FO to ACARS Dispatch. I also called Dispatch as requested. It was determined no inspection was necessary and we were cleared by Maintenance Control to continue operations. We re ran all check list and coordinated a new release time to ZZZ. We departed and continued with no other disruptions other than a late arrival due to the event.Cause: Traffic conflict between Takeoff and landing aircraftSuggestion: ATC should always plan for the Go Around as we do."
