Synopsis

B757 flight crew reported loss of #1 engine oil pressure after takeoff. Flight returned to departure airport and landed safely.

Narrative

The First Officer accomplished the takeoff and departure from runway XXR. The left engine (#1) had an engine low pressure indication on takeoff roll above 100kts; estimated at approximately 120-130kts. The takeoff was continued. Once airborne [priority handling was requested]; and the Eng Oil Press checklist was accomplished. The left engine (#1) oil pressure reading was zero; so the checklist directed the accomplishment of the Engine Failure or Shutdown checklist. The Engine Failure or Shutdown checklist was accomplished; and the left (#1) engine was shut down. A One-Engine Inoperative approach and landing was flown by the Captain to runway XXL. An overweight landing was accomplished. Though there was discussion of overweight landing potential; the Captain unintentionally neglected to run the Overweight Landing checklist. Inability of the aircraft to dump fuel; and priority of landing expeditiously rather than burning down fuel airborne; resulted in the necessary overweight landing; and considerations in the checklist; while discussed and briefed; would have been further emphasized had the checklist been accomplished. After landing; ground vehicles examined the shutdown engine and brake temperatures; and an uneventful taxi to the gate was accomplished.

The Engine Failure or Shutdown checklist was accomplished; and the left (#1) engine was shut down. A One-Engine Inoperative approach and landing was accomplished by the Captain to runway XXL at ZZZ. An overweight landing was accomplished. Though there was discussion of overweight landing potential; the Captain unintentionally neglected to run the Overweight Landing checklist.
