Synopsis

Air carrier Captain reported a Hydraulic System malfunction during cruise. Flight crew continued to the destination airport and landed safely.

Narrative

While cruising at FL360; the First Officer and I received an ECAM alert for HYD YELLOW RESERVOIR LOW LEVEL. FO was the pilot flying; and I instructed him to continue flying while I referenced the QRC and QRH. I accomplished the procedures outlined in QRH XX-XX; then contacted Dispatch via Satcom to discuss the situation. Maintenance Control was brought into the conversation. Together; we assessed the status of the aircraft and discussed a plan of action to ensure a safe arrival. Maintenance recommended continuing to ZZZ; which we agreed to. I then contacted ATC and [requested priority handling]; providing the nature of the problem; fuel remaining; and requested Runway XXR for landing.I briefed the flight attendants on the situation and instructed them to prepare. A PA was made to the passengers to inform them of the situation. The FO and I reviewed the checklists again; verified all necessary procedures were completed; and continued the flight to ZZZ. Weather was cavok. Upon landing on Runway XXR; we exited the runway via Taxiway 1 and stopped at the intersection of 1 and 2 to allow Airport Fire Rescue (AFR) to inspect the aircraft; with a focus on identifying any signs of hydraulic fluid leaks. AFR found no visible leaks; and we were cleared to continue taxi to the gate with AFR following. After arrival at the gate; we had the nosewheel chocked; shut down both engines; and then set the parking brake; in accordance with QRH procedures. No injuries or aircraft damage were noted; but a hydraulic leak was discovered during post-flight inspection by maintenance.
