Synopsis

CRJ-700 pilot reported bleed air duct malfunction and subsequent flight spoiler system malfunction resulted in aircraft yawing during descent. Flight continued to safe landing.

Narrative

I was PF and the Captain was PM. During our climb to FL190 we encountered some icing conditions; in which we turned on both cowl and wing anti ice. Upon reaching our cruise altitude of FL190 we started to exit the icing conditions and the wing/cowl anti ice was still on. A few moments later we got a L Bleed Duct master warning; followed by the audible tone. The CA quickly turned off both cowl and wing anti ice and we performed the immediate action checklist for the L Bleed Duct. Upon turning off the anti ice; the warning immediately went away and turned to a caution; and before we even completed the immediate action items; the caution message went away. We still completed the appropriate checklist. I took on the radios and the CA ran the qrh. During that time we were told to descend via the ZZZZZ [Arrival]; in which I started the descent sooner in case of any pressurization issues. Once the CA finished the QRH; we assessed the situation; which at that point was a non event. He assumed the radios again. Soon after; on the descent on the ZZZZZ I went to pull the spoilers out and we immediately got both the IB FLT Spoiler and IB Spoilerons caution messages; followed by a mostly yawing; but some banking motion to the left and back to the right. In response to that we stowed the spoilers and the aircraft made another yawing motion. I assumed the controls and radios and the CA pulled out the QRH to run the appropriate checklist. We believed that one side was stuck; however could not verify the full state of the spoilers. The FA looked visually for us and was unable to determine the state as well. After checking in with ZZZ approach; on the descent from 8K to 5K; the yawing motion happened again; in which we determined it would be best that I hand fly the airplane to avoid any abnormal movement with the AP on and request priority handling/precautionary landing at ZZZ. The CA advised ATC; the FA; and the passengers. We got vectored in for XXL; landed fast per the QRH; taxied off; and made it to the gate with no further issues.
