CARGO LGT HAS NOSE GEAR NOT EXTENDED INDICATION. INTO HOLDING TO SOLVE PROB.

Narrative

EXTENDED LNDG GEAR; NO NOSEWHEEL INDICATION. EXECUTED MISSED/GAR. COORDINATED RADAR VECTORS AND HOLDING WITH BAY APCH. ENTERING HOLDING DISTRACTED BY PROC ITEMS; DELAYED OUTBOUND HOLDING LEG. IN ACFT WE RECEIVED NO EICAS MESSAGES; RETRACTED GEAR AND HANDLE WAS VERY STICKY; VIBRATION NOTED. USED GEAR DISAGREE CHKLIST AND EXTENDED GEAR MANUALLY -- STILL NO NOSE GEAR GREEN INDICATION. ABNORMAL NOSE GEAR VIBRATION NOTED. REPEATED FULL PROC TO NO AVAIL. TESTED LIGHT BULBS; NO INDICATION. REPLACED 1 NOSE GEAR BULB AND EXTENDED GEAR NORMALLY. 3 GREEN. LANDED SJC WITHOUT FURTHER FAULT INDICATIONS. THROUGHOUT THIS INCIDENT I FAILED TO DECLARE AN EMER. PERHAPS THAT WOULD HAVE ALLEVIATED SOME ADDITIONAL EXTERNAL PRESSURE. NEXT TIME I INTEND TO DECLARE AN EMER AND RECEIVE ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE FROM ALL SOURCES -- COCKPIT RESOURCE MGMNT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION FROM ACN 259982: WE DID NOT DECLARE AN EMER WHILE WORKING THE GEAR PROB AND THEREFORE THIS RPT. THERE SEEMED TO BE NO CONFLICT WITH TFC OR CTLRS -- BUT JUST IN CASE!
