Narrative
ON ARR AT ACFT 40 MINS BEFORE DEP WE SET NAV EQUIP FOR EAGUL2.EAGUL SID TO SJN VOR AS PER COMPANY FLT PLAN. ABOUT 3 MINS BEFORE DEP THE PDC WAS DELIVERED TO COCKPIT. DURING 'CHAOS OF DEP' A QUICK CHK OF THE PDC 'CONFIRMED' THE ROUTING OVER SJN VOR. AS WE TRACKED OUTBOUND ON THE 034 RADIAL OF PXR VOR; ATC ASKED WHICH SID WE HAD BEEN GIVEN. WE REPLIED THE EAGUL2.EAGUL. THEY REPLIED 'YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE SJN1.SJN SID (054 RADIAL PXR); PROCEED DIRECT TO SJN-FLT PLAN RTE.' AFTER THE 'DUST' HAD SETTLED; WE CHKED AND THE PDC NOT THE SAME AS THE COMPANY GENERATED FLT PLAN! FACTORS: SJN1.SJN SID NEW AND EFFECTIVE THIS DATE JUN/XX/94 AND NOT YET IN COMPANY COMPUTER. THE SJN VOR APPEARED ON BOTH SIDS. THE PDC IS PLACED ON THE FORWARD PEDESTAL AREA FORWARD OF THE THROTTLES IN VIEW OF BOTH PLTS. HOWEVER; IN REVIEWING THIS MATTER I (THE CAPT) REALIZED THAT THE SPD BRAKE HANDLE BLOCKED MY VIEW OF THE 'SJN1.SJN' PORTION OF THE PDC PRINT OUT AND ALL I HAD SEEN WAS SJN AND ERRONEOUSLY ASSUMED PDC AND FLT PLAN WERE THE SAME.
