EMER DECLARED BY B727-200 CREW AFTER R GEAR COLLAPSES ON LNDG PROC ROLLOUT.
Narrative
FLT X; A B727-2 FROM DTW-LAS OPERATED NORMALLY UNTIL LNDG ROLLOUT ON RWY 25L AT A6 TXWY. THE R MAIN GEAR COLLAPSED AT APPROX 70 KTS. AN EMER WAS DECLARED AND CFR. ACR MAINT INSPECTED THE AIRPLANE TO ENSURE THERE WAS NO IMMEDIATE DANGER. THE NOSE GEAR WAS CHOCKED. ALL PAX WELL EVACED THROUGH DOOR 1L DOWN TRUCK STAIRS AND THEN BUSES TO TERMINAL. THE AIRPLANE WAS STOPPED APPROX 15 FT TO THE R OF THE CTRLINE ON RWY 25L AT HIGHSPD A6. NO INJURIES. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR ACN #309400 REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATED THAT THE ACFT WAS NOT YET TURNING FOR THE HIGH SPD TURN OFF; A-6. THEY HAD BEEN PLANNING ON USING IT; HOWEVER. THE GEAR DID NOT COMPLETELY COLLAPSE; WHICH SAVED THE WING AND FLAPS FROM ANY DAMAGES. THE FLAPS WERE STILL 'DOWN' AND HAD NOT BEEN RETRACTED BY THE CREW. FO DID NOT ADD MUCH ELSE TO THE INITIAL INFO. HE SAID THAT HE DID NOT RECEIVE ANY FEED BACK FROM THE ACR REGARDING WHY THE R MAIN GEAR HAD FAILED. THE CONDITIONS FOR AN 'ON SITE INSPECTION' WERE NOT CONDUCIVE FOR THE CREWMEMBERS.
