THE FLC TAKES OFF WITH LOGBOOKS BELONGING TO ANOTHER ACFT BELIEVING THEY HAD THE CORRECT LOGBOOKS.
Narrative
PREFLT WAS NORMAL. LOGBOOKS AND ACFT HAD NO DEFERRED OR MEL MAINT ITEMS. DISPATCH RELEASE AGREED WITH CONDITION OF ACFT AND LOGBOOKS. DISPATCH RELEASE WAS THE CORRECT TIME/DATE AND ACFT. NO PROBS NOTED. FUEL SLIP CHKED USING FUEL FROM LOGBOOK OF INBOUND FLT PLUS FUEL LOADED AT SFO. SLIGHT DIFFERENCE DUE TO APU FUEL BURN. ALL CHKS WERE DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH COMPANY SOPA/SMAC PROCS. OUR ACFT WAS THE ONLY B757 IN SFO AT THE TIME OF OUR DEP. LOGBOOKS WERE ON BOARD ACFT UPON OUR ARR AT ACFT. UPON OUR ARR AT DTW A MECH CAME TO THE COCKPIT WITH 2 LOGBOOKS. WE HAD THE LOGBOOKS ON BOARD FOR SHIP ABDD. WE WERE IN SHIP ABCD. THEY APPARENTLY HAD BEEN PUT IN THE WRONG ACFT INADVERTENTLY BY MAINT DURING NIGHTLY TURN. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 314650: WHEN FUEL SLIP CAME UP; I CHKED THE ARR FUEL AS RECORDED IN LOGBOOK FOR LAST PREVIOUS FLT WITH FUELERS RECORD. THERE WAS A 400 LB DISCREPANCY IN L TANK AND ONLY A 200 LB IN R TANK. I ATTRIBUTED L ERROR TO APU BURN. R ERROR TO GAUGE ERROR. (I HAVE SEEN MUCH GREATER DISCREPANCIES.)
