B727 FLC SCRAPES WINGTIP ON LNDG IN GUSTY WIND CONDITIONS.

Narrative

I WAS THE FO ON FLT FROM IND TO STL. DURING THE LNDG PHASE AT STL; THE ACFT'S R WING MADE CONTACT WITH THE RWY. THE COUPLED ILS APCH TO RWY 24 WAS NORMAL. ALL CREW PROCS WERE FOLLOWED; AND THE LNDG CHKLIST WAS COMPLETED. THE AUTOPLT WAS DISCONNECTED AT ABOUT 600 FT AGL. BELOW 600 FT AGL I NOTICED THAT GUSTY CONDITIONS WERE PRESENT; BUT THE CAPT CONTINUED FLYING A STABLE APCH. DURING THE LNDG PHASE I NOTICED INCREASED IRREGULAR GUSTS; AND AS THE ACFT WAS OVER THE TOUCHDOWN ZONE THE R WING CAME UP. THE CAPT MADE A CORRECTION TO LEVEL THE WINGS AND THE ACFT BANKED TO THE R. THE RATE OF R ROLL AND THE AMOUNT OF R BANK CAUSED ME TO MAKE THE CREW CALLOUT OF 'BANK.' THE CAPT MADE A CORRECTION TOWARDS LEVEL FLT; AND THE ACFT ROLLED TO THE L; FOLLOWED BY (AS WE TOUCHED DOWN) A SLIGHT BANK TO THE R THAT CAUSED ME TO AGAIN MAKE THE CREW CALLOUT OF 'BANK.' THE LNDG WAS FIRM BUT NOT A 'HARD LNDG.' THE LNDG ROLL WAS ON CTRLINE AND UNEVENTFUL. DURING A POST-FLT INSPECTION THE FE NOTICED DAMAGE TO THE R WING.
