A CATERING TRUCK IS KNOCKED ABOUT BY A DEPARTING B727'S JET BLAST ENCOUNTER DURING A RAMP OP RAMP DEP PROC.

Narrative

PUSHBACK FROM CONCOURSE -- WT 174000 LBS -- ALL 3 ENGS RUNNING. PUSHBACK PARALLEL TO CONCOURSE; RECEIVED TAXI INSTRUCTIONS; APPLIED PWR UP TO INDEXES POINTS (N2) OR 1800 FUEL FLOW. NOSE WAS POINTED TO W; TAIL DIRECTLY AT TERMINAL. PWR AT IDLE SINCE WE HAD MOMENTUM. TOLD TO STOP BY GND CTL TO GIVE WAY TO B727 AND B737 ON TXWY A. THEY BOTH TURNED EARLY TO 'S PORT.' I ADDED PWR TO ALL 3 ENGS TO INDEXES; VERY SLOW MOVEMENT. WHEN NOSE WAS ON TXWY A ADDED MORE PWR TO #1 AND #3; #2 AT IDLE. LATER TOLD FOOD TRUCK SERVICING A B737 AFT GALLEY AT GATE WAS BLOWN IN THE TURN. FOOD HANDLER IN TRUCK FELL AND CARTS WERE KNOCKED TO THE BOTTOM OR ON TO THE FLOOR. FOOD HANDLER NOT HURT. WAS TOLD THAT RAMP ON LOW SIDE ON EVEN GATES ARE UPHILL -- A PROB AREA. PLUS THE UNFORTUNATE FACT THAT WE WERE TOLD TO STOP; HOLD POS AFTER WE TURNED; A PERFECT SET-UP SO TO SPEAK. NEXT TIME A TOW WILL BE REQUESTED AT SUCH A HIGH GROSS WT OR ONLY ENGS #1 AND 3 BROUGHT UP TO INDEXES. A MOST UNFORTUNATE EVENT; WHICH WILL HOPEFULLY NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN. EXTREME DILIGENCE WILL BE USED IN THE FUTURE.
