Narrative
I WAS FO ON A FLT DEN-LAX. TAXI TO RWY 17R UNEVENTFUL. TWR CLRED US FOR TKOF ON RWY 17R AND ASSIGNED A 155 DEG HDG. AFTER TKOF AT 750 FT AGL IN TURN TO 155 DEGS; I SAW A B737 AT 1-1:30 O'CLOCK POS; SLIGHTLY LOW; PASSING HEAD- ON AT APPROX 2500 FT LATERAL SEPARATION. THE OTHER ACFT APPEARED TO BE ON FINAL FOR RWY 35L. AT ABOUT THE SAME TIME I SAW THE OTHER ACFT. WE GOT AN RA 'CLB; CLB' ON THE TCASII. COINCIDENT WITH THIS WE GOT A FREQ CHANGE FROM TWR TO DEP CTL. I ASKED 'WHAT WAS THAT?' AND GOT A PHONE NUMBER TO CALL WHEN WE LANDED IN LAX. WE TALKED TO DEN TWR SUPVR WHEN WE GOT TO LAX AND HE SAID THE CTLR THOUGHT HE HAD ADEQUATE SPACING BTWN US AND ARR. A RWY CHANGE WAS IN PROGRESS AND WE WERE APPARENTLY LAST S DEP. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 355450: TURNED TO ASSIGNED HDG OF 155 DEGS. DURING TURN AT APPROX 750 FT AGL; FO SIGHTED A B737; OPPOSITE DIRECTION; AT OUR 1:30 O'CLOCK POS; APPROX 1/2 MI HORIZLY AND LEVEL TO SLIGHTLY LOWER THAN US. THIS ACFT WAS APPARENTLY ON FINAL APCH FOR RWY 35L AT DEN. SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH SIGHTING WE RECEIVED 'CLB; CLB' RA ON TCASII. OUR EXISTING FLT PATH KEPT US DIVERGING FROM TFC AND IN COMPLIANCE WITH RA.
