Synopsis

AN ACR B757 MADE A GAR AFTER AN ACFT EQUIP PROB FLAPS WOULD NOT MOVE FROM 25 DEGS TO 30 DEGS.

Narrative

I CALLED FOR FLAPS 30 DEGS. SOMEWHERE BTWN 800-900 FT WE RECEIVED AN EICAS MESSAGE ALERTING US TO A FLAP DISAGREE CONDITION. I CONTINUED THE APCH WHILE THE CAPT RESELECTED FLAPS 25 DEGS AND THEN 30 DEGS AGAIN. THIS DID NOT CLR THE CONDITION. THE CAPT CALLED FOR A MISSED APCH WHICH I EXECUTED. HE INFORMED ATC OF OUR PROB. I LEVELED THE ACFT AT 2000 FT AND WE MADE A POSITIVE TRANSFER OF CTL OF THE ACFT. I RAN THE FLAP DISAGREE CHKLIST; REVIEWED THE FLAP ASYMMETRY CHKLIST; CHKED THE FLAPS 25 DEG LNDG PERFORMANCE LIMIT AND FINALLY; THE FLAPS 25 DEG LNDG DISTANCE CHART. BY THIS TIME WE WERE ON A DOWNWIND LEG FOR LNDG RWY 19R AT SNA. THE CAPT DIRECTED ME TO CALL OUR ACR MAINT FACILITY TO INFORM THEM AND SOLICIT ANY INFO THAT MIGHT HELP OUR SIT. THE CAPT ALSO DIRECTED ME TO CALL DISPATCH AND INFORM THEM OF OUR STATUS. MAINT HAD NOTHING TO ADD THAT WE HADN'T COVERED. DISPATCH RESPONSE WAS IMMEDIATE. I INFORMED DISPATCH OF SIT AND WE DECIDED SNA WAS STILL OUR BEST OPTION AND WE WOULD CONTINUE FOR A NORMAL FLAPS 25 DEG LNDG. HE AGREED AND SAID HE WOULD ALERT OUR STATION FOR US. THE CAPT MADE A NORMAL FLAPS 25 DEG LNDG AND WE TAXIED TO THE GATE UNEVENTFULLY.
