B757-200 TAXIING TO RWY 4; CAPT SUDDENLY COLLAPSES. FO STOPPED ACFT AND CALLED FOR A DOCTOR FROM THE CABIN PLUS EMER MEDICS. CAPT REMOVED FROM THE ACFT UNDER OWN PWR AND TAKEN TO HOSPITAL. DEADHEADING CREW MEMBER COORDINATED WITH DISPATCH AND TAXIED ACFT BACK TO THE GATE.

Narrative

A LITTLE LIGHT SNOW FALLING DURING ENG START AND TAXI; APCHING RWY 4 INSTRUCTED FO TO CHK WINGS FOR SNOW. I HEARD FO YELL FOR FLT ATTENDANT. A DOCTOR CAME TO THE COCKPIT AND CHKED MY PULSE; (WAS OK). MEDICAL ASSISTANCE ARRIVED AND CHKED PULSE AND BLOOD PRESSURE (WAS OK). I REMOVED MY PERSONAL HEADSET AND PUT IT IN ITS CASE. I PUT MY CHARTS; EYE GLASSES IN MY FLT BAG AND CLOSED IT; GOT OUT OF MY SEAT; AND SAT IN WHEELCHAIR AND WAS REMOVED FROM ACFT AND BROUGHT TO HOSPITAL. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO ACFT OR INJURIES TO PAX OR CREW TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 360640: I WAS A DEADHEADING CAPT. AS WE APCHED THE TKOF END OF RWY 4; THE ACFT MADE A SUDDEN; JOLTING STOP. APPROX 30 SECONDS LATER AN ANNOUNCEMENT CAME OVER THE PA REQUESTING ANY DOCTOR ON BOARD. AT THAT TIME I MADE MY PRESENCE KNOW TO FLT ATTENDANTS. APPARENTLY THE CAPT BECAME ILL -- UNRESPONSIVE. THE COPLT SHUT DOWN THE ENGS AND CALLED FOR EMT'S. I GAVE MY ASSISTANCE TO THE CREW. THE FO AND FLT ATTENDANTS HANDLED THE SIT VERY PROFESSIONALLY. AFTER THE CAPT WAS REMOVED I COORDINATED WITH DISPATCH AND THE LCL GND CREW AND TAXIED THE ACFT BACK TO THE GATE.
