HIS COMPANY THEN REQUALIFIED HIM FOR LINE FLYING AS PER THE FAA REQUIREMENTS. BUT; THE RPTR DOES NOT FEEL THAT HE IS; IN FACT; QUALIFIED PHYSICALLY; MENTALLY OR BY HIS TRAINING.

Narrative

FELL ON JETWAY EXTERIOR STAIRS IN ANCHORAGE; ALASKA -- FOUND UNCONSCIOUS AT BOTTOM OF STEPS. SPENT MONTHS RECUPERATING FROM HEAD; KIDNEY AND LEG INJURY. MEDICAL RETURNED BY FAA IN FEBRUARY 1997. REALLY DON'T BELIEVE HEAD INJURY WAS PROPERLY ADDRESSED BY AGENCY. PRODUCED PHYSICAL TO COMPANY AS PER OPS MANUAL. (IN COURT WITH COMPANY AND THEIR INSURANCE CARRIER OVER HASSLES.) ONLY TRAINING REQUIRED BY COMPANY WAS 3 DAYS RECURRENT GND SCHOOL AND 3 TKOFS AND LNDGS IN SIMULATOR BEFORE THEY WANTED ME TO FLY A LINE TRIP. NO CONCERNS FOR MY INJURIES; ESPECIALLY 'HEAD;' UNCONSCIOUS FOR (?); AND BELIEVING 3 BOUNCES IN A SIMULATOR WOULD QUALIFY MYSELF. CAN'T AFFORD TO LOSE MY PHYSICAL DUE TO COMPANY'S INSURANCE AND NON COMPLIANCE WITH WORK COMP REQUIREMENTS AND CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS. I TELL COMPANY I'M UNFIT TO FLY; COMPANY DISCONTINUES MY PAY AND BENEFITS AND FAMILY'S; AND SAME HAPPENS IF I ADVISE FAA I AM POSSIBLY NOT PHYSICALLY FIT AND SAME AS ABOVE HAPPENS. NO TRAINING; ONLY TIME WILL TELL OUTCOME. I AM FLYING TODAY NOT FULLY RETRAINED AND WITH POSSIBLE FUTURE MEDICAL PROBS ARISING; LOSING MY CAREER AND MEDICAL WITH NO BENEFITS AS REQUIRED UNDER LAW OR CONTRACT.
