A B727-200 REJECTED TKOF AT 100 KTS DUE TO FAILURE TO ARM THE AUTOPACK TRIP SYS.
Narrative
DURING TKOF ROLL THE AUTOPACK TRIP SYS DID NOT ARM AND THE TKOF WAS DISCONTINUED AT 100 KTS. IT TURNS OUT THE ARMING SWITCH WAS NOT MOVED TO ARMED POS. BRAKES WERE COOLED AND THE SUBSEQUENT TKOF WAS NORMAL. THE SO WAS ON HIS SECOND DAY OF IOE UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF A LINE CHK AIRMAN. THE CAUSE OF THE FORGETTING OF THE SWITCH WAS MY ALLOWING THINGS TO GET RUSHED JUST PRIOR TO TKOF AND NOT ALLOWING ENOUGH TIME FOR AN INEXPERIENCED FE TO CATCH UP. ALL CHKLISTS WERE ACCOMPLISHED BUT NOT IN SMOOTH; CTLED FASHION ONE WOULD LIKE. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 371982: DURING TKOF ROLL AT LGA; THE AUTOPACK TRIP LIGHT (GREEN LIGHT) FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. DUE TO RWY LENGTH AND ACFT WT; THIS SYS WAS REQUIRED FOR TKOF (REQUIRED BY COMPANY). CONCERN FOR LNDG TFC ON A XING RWY DELAYED RECOGNITION OF THE INOP SYS. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 371884: BEFORE TKOF CHKLIST WAS RUSHED BY QUICK TKOF CLRNC. DID NOT COMPLETE CHKLIST UNTIL ACFT ACCELERATED TO APPROX 60 KTS; AT WHICH POINT I NOTICED THAT THE AUTOPACK TRIP-OFF SYS DID NOT ARM. I CALLED OUT THAT THE SYS DID NOT ARM AND THE INSTRUCTOR SO ALSO CALLED IT OUT AT THIS TIME. THE CAPT INITIATED AN ABORT AT APPROX 100 KTS AND WE TAXIED CLR TO LET THE BRAKES COOL. IN RETROSPECT; WE SHOULD HAVE STOPPED THE OP INSTEAD OF RUSHING DURING A CRITICAL PHASE OF FLT. I SHOULD HAVE VOICED THAT I WAS BEING RUSHED AND DID NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE.
