A B727-200 ON LNDG WITH ANTI-SKID DEFERRED AS INOP EXPERIENCED A BLOWN TIRE AND SEVERED SIDE SUPPORT STRUT ON THE R MAIN LDNG GEAR.

Narrative

FLYING B727 WITH ANTI-SKID INOP (MEL'ED). I FLEW ACFT EWR-BDA WITH NO PROBS NOTED. FO FLEW ACFT (BDA-EWR) AND EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL UNTIL TOUCHDOWN. ACFT IMMEDIATELY VEERED SHARPLY R AND I HEARD A BANG AND FELT ACFT SHUDDER...GAINED CTL OF ACFT; USED REVERSE THRUST TO SLOW/STOP ACFT ON LAST HIGH SPD TURN OFF. FOUND FLAT SPOTS ON TIRES #1 AND #4; #2 WAS NORMAL AND #3 WAS SHREDDED AND WE HAD WORN PART OF THE HUB/WHEEL ASSEMBLY AWAY (GROUND AWAY BY RWY). R MAIN GEAR SUPPORT BRACE WAS BUSTED AND GEAR WAS CANTED TO R MORE THAN NORMAL. NO ONE WAS HURT THAT I KNOW OF. RUMOR HAS IT THAT A PAX COMPLAINED OF SOME TYPE OF INJURY AT BAGGAGE CLAIM. I THINK THE ANTI-SKID SYS (ALTHOUGH TURNED OFF) WAS LOCKED ON THE R GEAR THAT CAUSED THE SHARP VEER TO R AND THE FAILURE...THEN THE #3 RUBBER SHEARED THE GEAR SUPPORT BRACE AND IT STARTED TO SHIFT R AS WE SLOWED/STOP ACFT. ACFT HAD HISTORY OF ANTI-SKID PROBS AND THE CAPT ON PREVIOUS FLT HAD NO BRAKING ON R SIDE AS HE LEFT ANTI- SKID SWITCH ON -- OUR MEL XX IS CONFUSING.0 THE FIRST 2 PARAGRAPHS GIVE DIFFERENT ACTIONS AND OUR MAINT PEOPLE WEREN'T 100% SURE OF EXACT NATURE OF ANTI-SKID PROB SO WE ENSURED ANTI-SKID SYS WAS OFF AND WE DEPARTED.
