Narrative
WE WERE SCHEDULED TO DEPART RSW AT XA00 LCL ON AN ACR FLT. ABOUT 15-20 MINS PRIOR TO DEP; A YOUNG MAN SHOWED UP AT THE ACFT WITH A JUMP SEAT PASS AND AN IDENT CARD. I HURRIEDLY LOOKED AT THE COMPANY PASS AND HIS IDENT AND AGREED TO LET HIM RIDE. I WAS STILL THINKING ABOUT THE PREDEP CHKS AND DID NOT CHK HIS LICENSE. AFTER DEP; SOMETHING ABOUT HIS ANSWERS TO GENERAL CONVERSATION QUESTIONS MADE ME WONDER ABOUT HIM. WHEN WE INQUIRED ABOUT HIS CERTIFICATE HE SAID THAT IT WAS IN HIS FLT KIT IN MINNEAPOLIS. HE SAID THAT HE WAS RETURNING TO MSP TO BE REQUALIFIED BY COMPANY. HE FURTHER REVEALED THAT THE IDENT CARD WAS ACTUALLY AN ARPT IDENT AND NOT A COMPANY IDENT. I REALIZE NOW THAT I SHOULD HAVE CHKED HIS CREDENTIALS MORE CLOSELY. HE MAY HAVE BEEN AN AUTHENTIC ACR X PLT; BUT HE MAY HAVE ALSO BEEN A FRAUD. I WAS MORE CONCERNED WITH COMPLETING MY PREDEP CHKS AND MAY HAVE INADVERTENTLY CREATED A BREACH OF SECURITY. AFTER ARRIVING IN ATL; I CALLED THE CAPT ON THE FLT THAT HE WAS TAKING TO MSP AND TOLD HIM OF MY CONCERNS. I DO NOT KNOW HOW THE OUTBOUND CAPT HANDLED THE SIT.
