Narrative

I WAS THE CAPT ON APR/XA/98 ON APCH TO ORD. THE FO WAS FLYING. THE ATIS WAS ADVERTISING RWY 4R; RWY 9L; RWY 9R WITH LAHSO PROCS IN EFFECT. I ADVISED ORD APCH ON INITIAL CONTACT THAT WE WERE UNABLE TO LAHSO. WE WERE TOLD TO EXPECT RWY 14R ILS. WHEN VECTORED TO INTERCEPT THE RWY 14R ILS WE FOUND THAT IT WAS EITHER OFF THE AIR OR UNUSABLE. WE WERE UNABLE TO RECEIVE A GOOD SIGNAL. APCH WAS ADVISED AND THEN TOLD US TO TURN TO A HDG OF 140 DEGS; AND THAT WE WERE CLRED FOR A VISUAL APCH TO RWY 14R. I ADVISED THEM THAT WE HAD NEITHER THE ARPT; THE RWY; NOR ANY ACFT IN SIGHT. I RECEIVED NO REPLY. SHORTLY THEREAFTER; WE WERE ABLE TO SEE RWY 14R AND SO ADVISED APCH CTL. WE WERE THEN AGAIN CLRED FOR A VISUAL APCH TO RWY 14R AND TOLD TO CONTACT THE TWR. WE DID THAT AND WERE TOLD THAT WE WERE CLRED TO LAND ON RWY 14R TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 9R. I ADVISED THE TWR THAT WE WERE UNABLE TO LAHSO. WE WERE THEN TOLD TO GAR; CLB ON RWY HDG TO 4000 FT. AFTER BEING GIVEN A TURN TO THE S WE WERE TURNED OVER TO DEP CTL; WHO WAS NOT EXPECTING US. HE ASKED WHAT OUR FIRST FIX WAS. WE THEN WERE VECTORED FOR AN APCH TO RWY 9R AND LANDED UNEVENTFULLY. THAT IS THE END OF THE NARRATIVE. YOU FIGURE WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE.
