Narrative
BEFORE WE TOOK OFF TO RETURN TO CHICAGO; MY CAPT INFORMED ME THAT THERE WERE TSTMS IN THE AREA AND TO BE CAREFUL WHEN SERVING. A FEW MINS LATER MY FO CAME TO THE BACK BEFORE BOARDING AND I ASKED HIM WHEN EXACTLY WOULD BE A GOOD TIME TO SERVE. HE SAID; 'WHEN YOU SEE CLR SKIES WOULD BE A GOOD TIME.' SO AFTER WE TOOK OFF; AT LEAST 10 MINS AFTER THE SIGNAL THAT IT IS OK TO GET OUT OF OUR JUMP SEAT; I GOT UP AND TOOK DRINK ORDERS. I PULLED THE CART OUT AND PREPARED CUPS WITH ICE AND POURED TWO SODAS. I TURNED AROUND WITH BOTH DRINKS ON A TRAY AND ALL OF A SUDDEN WE HIT TURB. THE ACFT DROPPED AND BEGAN SWAYING. I FELL AND THEN THE GALLEY CART HIT ME IN THE BACK. I USED MY R ARM TO PUSH THE CART BACK OFF ME AND STAYED THERE FOR A SECOND TO ASSEMBLE ALL THE CUPS AND ICE THAT FLEW EVERYWHERE. I SLOWLY GOT UP WHEN I HEARD THE CHIME INDICATING A CALL FROM THE CAPT. HE ASKED ME IF I WAS SEATED WHEN WE HIT THE TURB. I SAID NO I WAS TRYING TO SERVE AND FELL AND THAT THE CART HIT ME IN THE BACK. HE ASKED IF I WAS OK AND I TOLD HIM THAT I WAS SORE IN THE BACK AND SHAKEN UP. HE THEN ASKED IF I WOULD NEED ANY ASSISTANCE CLEANING UP. I SAID I HAD GOTTEN EVERYTHING CLEANED UP PRETTY GOOD. AFTER I HUNG UP WITH HIM HE MADE A PA THAT I WOULD NOT BE SERVING. I WENT TO CHK ON THE PAX AND BE SURE THEY WERE OK. THEY WERE JUST A BIT SHAKEN. I RETURNED TO MY JUMP SEAT. A SHORT WHILE LATER THE CAPT CALLED AND SAID IF I WANTED TO SERVE I COULD. WE HAD PASSED ALL THE STORMS. I TOLD HIM I WAS SORE AND I DIDN'T THINK I COULD. HE SAID OK. WE LANDED IN CHICAGO AND AS I OPENED THE DOOR I COULD FEEL A BURNING SENSATION IN MY BACK. ONCE WE HAD DEPLANED; I WENT TO MY SUPVR'S OFFICE AND NO ONE WAS THERE. I THEN WENT TO THE CREW LOUNGE TO GET SOME ASSISTANCE. I TOLD THE CREW COORDINATOR; 'MY FLT HIT TURB AND I FELL AND THE CART HIT ME IN THE BACK. MY BACK IS VERY SORE AND I HAVE ANOTHER FLT IN 30 MINS.' HE THEN ASKED ME IF I WAS ABLE TO FLY. I SAID; 'NO.' HE THEN ASKED ME THE SAME QUESTION AT LEAST 3 MORE TIMES WITHIN A 30 MIN TIME PERIOD. I FINALLY ASKED IF I COULD JUST GO TO COMPANY MEDICAL. THE CREW COORDINATOR TOLD ME TO WAIT A FEW SECONDS; HE NEEDED TO FINISH TALKING TO CREW SCHEDULING. I THEN SAT DOWN AGAIN AND MY FO GOT UP AND TOLD THE CREW COORDINATOR THAT I WAS HURT AND I NEED TO GO NOW. I HAD ALREADY TOLD THEM I COULDN'T FLY SO I NEED MEDICAL ASSISTANCE.
