Synopsis

A B727-200 HAD AN FAA AUDIT OF A DAILY SVC INSPECTION AND FOUND NUMEROUS COCKPIT AND CABIN REQUIRED PLACARDS MISSING AND THE GALLEY TRASH CONTAINER DOORS BROKEN.

Narrative

ON OCT/XA/98; INSPECTORS FROM FAA ZZZ FSDO COMPLETED AN AUDIT OF A DAILY SVC INSPECTION. THE INSPECTION WAS PERFORMED ON AN ACFT OF ACR X; BOEING MODEL B727-200 ACFT; REGISTRATION NUMBER XYXY. THE DAILY SVC INSPECTION AND THE FAA AUDIT WERE COMPLETED AT ZZZ ARPT; ZZZ; US. THE NIGHT BEFORE I WAS WORKING RAPIDLY TO MEET THE UNUSUALLY HIGH WORKLOAD FOR THAT PARTICULAR NIGHT. THE NEXT DAY THE FAA FOUND 1) FOD UNDER THE CAPT'S AND COPLT'S RUDDER PEDALS; 2) INSTRUCTIONAL PLACARDS ON THE CAPT'S AND COPLT'S INST PANEL; TELLING THEM THEY WERE LIMITED TO CAT I OPS; WERE UNREADABLE. 3) THE AFT L AND R LAVATORIES WERE MISSING THE REQUIRED PLACARDS ON THE MIRROR. 4) 51 REQUIRED 'FASTEN SEAT BELT WHILE SEATED PLACARDS.' 5) THE FORWARD AND AFT GALLEY TRASH CONTAINER DOOR WAS BENT AND BROKEN AND WOULD NOT SEAL. IT IS HIGHLY POSSIBLE THAT I OVERLOOKED MOST OF THESE INCIDENTS WHILE WORKING RAPIDLY TO MEET THE HIGH WORKLOAD FOR THAT PARTICULAR NIGHT. HOWEVER; I AM AWARE THAT I NEED TO BE MORE CAREFUL WHEN INSPECTING FOR PLACARDS.
