ARTCC DATA CTLR BRINGS TO THE ATTN OF ARTCC RADAR CTLR DECREASING SEPARATION SIT BTWN B757 AND B737. ARTCC RADAR CTLR DISTR BY CGA ACFT CTL ACTIONS. INSUFFICIENT TIME TO CORRECT LOSS OF SEPARATION.

Narrative

ACFT #1 AT FL330 WAS EBOUND DIRECT OMA. ACFT #2 AT FL310 WAS WBOUND DIRECT HCT. ACFT #3 WAS A GRI DEP AT FL290 EBOUND DIRECT PMM. ACFT #1 WAS GIVEN A 15 DEG R TURN AND A DSCNT CLRNC TO FL240. THE RADAR PERSON HAD PUT A DRI ON ACFT #3. I BELIEVE THE RADAR PERSON THOUGHT THEY PUT THE DRI ON ACFT #2. I WAS TRAINING A DEVELOPMENTAL ON THE D- SIDE. WHEN I LOOKED AT THE RADAR AND NOTICED THERE WOULD NOT BE ENOUGH SEPARATION; I TOLD THE RADAR PERSON. HE THEN RECLRED ACFT #1 TO FL330 BUT SEPARATION WAS LOST. I BELIEVE THE RADAR PERSON HAD JUST RETURNED FROM SOME LEAVE. HE HAD ONLY BEEN IN THE SECTOR 10 OR 15 MINS. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 420571: ACFT X WAS OUT OF FL325 AND DSNDING WHEN THE RADAR CTLR SAW HIS MISTAKE AND AMENDED HIS ALT TO FL330. BY THAT TIME; WE ALREADY LOST SEPARATION. I WAS WORKING THE D-SIDE (DATA) POS AS A TRAINEE. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 420590: CTR WAS ASKED FOR A DSCNT WITH TFC PERMITTING. A R TURN OF 15 DEGS WAS GIVEN WITH A DSCNT TO FL240 FROM FL330. AS THE ACFT DSNDED A TCASII RA ANNUNCIATED 'CLB.' AT THE SAME TIME CTR CAME BACK WITH A CLRNC TO MAINTAIN FL330. CLB WAS INITIATED BACK TO FL330.
