B727 CREW ACCEPTED MORE THAN 1 'DANGEROUS' PRISONER FOR TRANSPORT.
Narrative
EXCESSIVE MAX RISK PRISONERS. THE INBOUND FLT WAS LATE CAUSING MY FLT TO BE DELAYED/RUSHED WITH THE EXPECTED PUSH BY GATE PERSONNEL TO GET OUT AS SOON AS ALL PAX ABOARD. I BRIEFED THE FEDERAL MARSHALS AND SCANNED THE PAPERWORK. THE FORMS WERE NOT CLR WITH ONE HAVING BOTH MAX RISK AND MINIMUM RISK BOXES CHKED. NOTHING BOTHERED ME RIGHT THEN; BECAUSE I WAS TRYING TO GET THE TRAIN BACK ON TRACK -- ON TIME. NATURALLY IT WAS ONLY AFTER AIRBORNE THAT I CLOSELY SCRUTINIZED THE ARMED ESCORT PAPERWORK AND SAW THAT ON ONE OF THE FORMS BOTH IDENTING BOXES HAD BEEN CHKED. UPON CHKING MY PART 1; I SAW THAT ONLY 1 MAX RISK PRISONER WAS ALLOWED PER FLT. I THEN QUERIED THE ESCORTS AS TO WHETHER OR NOT BOTH PRISONERS WERE IN FACT MAX RISK. THEY SAID ANY TIME PRISONERS ARE REQUIRED TO BE IN HANDCUFFS/SHACKLES THEY ARE ALWAYS LISTED AS MAX RISK REGARDLESS OF THE OFFENSE THEY ARE CHARGED WITH. THE GATE AGENTS AT MIA APPARENTLY ARE UNAWARE OF THE RESTR OF THE NUMBER OF MAX RISK PAX ALLOWED OR THAT ANYTIME A PRISONER IS IN HANDCUFFS OR SHACKLES; THEY ARE MAX RISK PRISONERS. THERE WERE NO PROBS WITH THE PRISONERS JUST THAT THE GATE AGENTS BOARDED TOO MANY AND I DIDN'T CHK MY PART 1 OR LISTEN TO THAT LITTLE VOICE TELLING ME THAT SOMETHING WAS NOT RIGHT; EVEN HAD THE SECTION/PARAGRAPH HIGHLIGHTED IN MY PART 1. ENOUGH SAID; LESSON LEARNED -- LISTEN TO LITTLE VOICE!
