Narrative

WE WERE CLRED FOR AN APCH TO RWY 17 BY APCH CTL ON FREQ 127.75 AND LATER CLRED FOR AN APCH TO RWY 18R AND HANDED OFF TO MCO TWR. UPON BEGINNING OUR TRANSITION FROM RWY 17 TO RWY 18R; WE NOTICED AN ACR Y B737 TURNING FINAL AT OUR 2 O'CLOCK POS TO WHAT SEEMED TO BE ALSO RWY 18R. UPON ASKING THE TWR WHERE THE B737 WAS PROCEEDING; WE WERE TOLD THAT THE B737 WAS MAKING AN APCH TO RWY 18L AND INFORMED THE TWR THAT WE WERE CLRED FOR AN APCH TO RWY 18R. HE INSTRUCTED US TO TRANSITION BACK TO RWY 17. THE B737 WAS IN A POS WHERE WE WERE LOOKING INTO THE SUN AND BEFORE WE COULD BEGIN OUR TRANSITION TO RWY 17; WE RECEIVED 2 TA'S ON TCASII. THERE WAS OBVIOUSLY NO COORD BTWN APCH CTL AND TWR AND HAD THE 2 ACFT CONTINUED ON THE CLRNCS RECEIVED; THEY WOULD HAVE CROSSED FLT PATHS WITH APPROX 200 FT SEPARATION. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 423440: THIS INCIDENT WAS CAUSED BY APCH GIVING US A CLRNC HE SHOULDN'T HAVE; AND BY THE LACK OF COORD BTWN APCH AND TWR. TWR WAS NO HELP EITHER. HE NEVER EVEN CALLED OUT ACR Y AS TFC FOR US. WE DON'T KNOW IF ACR Y EVER SAW US OR NOT.
