FO FLYING. NORMAL TKOF. FO POSITIVE RATE GEAR UP. CAPT RETRACTED GEAR; WAITED FOR UP INDICATIONS. CAPT NOTED RED NOSE GEAR LIGHT (WITH HANDLE IN UP POS). AS ACFT ACCELERATED THERE WAS OBVIOUS ADDITIONAL DRAG. AFTER 3 MINS CAPT PLACED HANDLE TO OFF POS (RED LIGHT EXTINGUISHED; GREEN NOSE LIGHT ON; NOSE GEAR DOWN AND LOCKED). CAPT DECIDED TO LEAVE IN POS. CREW REVIEWED ALL OPERATING PROCS. DISPATCH CONTACTED. DISPATCH CALLED CUN (ON DSCNT GEAR DOWN ALL INDICATIONS NORMAL). UNEVENTFUL LNDG. ACFT INSPECTED ON RWY. MAINT INSTALLED ALL GEAR PINS. TAXIED TO GATE; PAX DEPLANED WITHOUT INCIDENT. UPON INSPECTION MAINT FOUND FAULTY ELECTRIC UPLOCK CTL. MAINT JACKED NOSE; CYCLED GEAR SEVERAL TIMES. NOSE GEAR DID RETRACT; HOWEVER; RED LIGHT ON (WITH HANDLE UP; IDENTICAL INDICATION). MAINT BELIEVES FAULTY ELECTRIC CIRCUIT. UNEVENTFUL FERRY CUN MIA WITH GEAR EXTENDED. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE ACFT WAS A B727-200 AND AFTER THE ACFT WAS FERRIED TO MIA ACR MAINT RPTED THE FIX WAS REPLACEMENT OF THE NOSE GEAR UP LOCK SENSOR.
