LOCATION: 15 NM N OF JEN VOR ON JEN 5 ARR; 2.8 NM L OF 039 DEG RADIAL. IN GPS NAV MODE; MORE THAN 30 NM FROM DEST; LEVELING AT 11000 FT; SLOWING TO 250 KTS FOR RESTR ON ARR. AUTOPLT IN MANUAL MODE. CDI 1 NEEDLE R; CORRECTING R. ATC CALLED; 'TURN R 20 DEGS.' ERROR CAUSED BY FORGETTING GPS LATERAL DEV REFED TO 30 NM FROM DEST; NOT NAV FACILITY. WE WERE 50 NM FROM DEST; ENRTE MODE. 1 DOT ON ARR EXCEEDS ATC LIMITS. CONTRIBUTING TO ERROR: FO (PNF) NOT TUNED TO JEN WITH 39 DEG RADIAL. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 441362: CROSSED JEN VORTAC AND DRIFTED L OF CTRLINE. CREW NOTICED ERROR AND WE WERE CORRECTING BACK TO CTRLINE WHEN ATC CALLED US L. I CHKED GPS; WHICH SHOWED ONLY 2.8 MI L OF COURSE. CDI INDICATED 1 1/4 DOTS L OF 039 DEG RADIAL. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 441167: CAPT'S LEG. I WAS FE AND PASSING 11800 FT FOR 11000 FT. FLT ATTENDANT CAME IN TO RPT A WRITE-UP. I WAS BUSY ENTERING IT AND CALLING MAINT AND WAS NOT MONITORING THE ARR. THE FO MENTIONED TO THE CAPT THAT WE WERE STILL IN MANUAL AND THAT WE NEEDED TO COME TO THE R TO INTERCEPT THE 039 DEG RADIAL. WERE IN MANUAL AND THOUGHT WE WERE IN NAV. I ALLOWED MYSELF TO BE DISTR ON THE ARR. I THOUGHT ABOUT DOING IT LATER (CALLING MAINT) AND CHKED OUR ALT AND DECIDED THAT I WOULD DO IT AS WE WERE ABOVE 10000 FT. NEXT TIME I WILL DO IT ON THE GND.
