Synopsis

TKOF WARNING CAUSES B727 CREW TO REJECT TKOF. NO LOG ITEM WAS MADE OR CLRED BY MAINT.

Narrative

WHEN THROTTLES WERE ADVANCED FOR TKOF; THE TKOF WARNING HORN SOUNDED. THE TKOF WAS DISCONTINUED AT APPROX 5-10 KTS; AND THE ACFT CLRED THE RWY AND TAXIED TO A PARALLEL TXWY. ALL SYS WERE CHKED; INCLUDING THE FLAP POS; TRIM POS; AND SPD BRAKE POS. ALL SYS CHKED NORMAL AND CONFIGN FOR TKOF WAS CORRECT. THE FLAPS WERE CYCLED UP AND BACK TO THE TKOF POS; THE SPOILERS WERE EXTENDED AND RETRACTED; AND THE TRIM WAS CYCLED TO MAKE SURE ALL SYS WERE INDICATING NORMALLY. TWR CLRNC WAS RECEIVED TO ADVANCE THROTTLES ON THE TXWY TO DETERMINE IF THE PROB WAS CORRECTED. PAX WERE NOTIFIED OF THE ENG RUNUP. NO WARNING CONDITIONS WERE NOTED. MAINT WAS CONTACTED THROUGH COMPANY RADIO AND ADVISED OF THE SIT. WHEN ASKED IF A WRITE-UP AND TAXI BACK WAS REQUIRED; MAINT SAID THAT AS LONG AS THE PROB WAS CORRECTED A WRITE-UP WAS NOT REQUIRED. MAINT CHKED THE ACFT AND SAID THAT NO HISTORY OF THE PROB EXISTED. THE ACFT TAXIED BACK TO THE RWY WHILE COMPLETING NORMAL CHKLIST ITEMS. A NORMAL TKOF AND DEP WAS PERFORMED WITHOUT OCCURRENCE. A LOGBOOK ENTRY WAS NEVER MADE; BUT IN RETROSPECT ONE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ENTERED REGARDLESS OF RECOMMENDATION FROM MAINT.
