Narrative
THE CAPT MADE A PA STATING THAT WE WERE PROBABLY DIVERTING TO HOUSTON DUE TO A FAST MOVING FRONT OF WX THROUGH AUSTIN. ABOUT 5 MINS LATER; WE HEARD PREPARE FOR LNDG. AS THE #1 FLT ATTENDANT MADE HER PREPARE ANNOUNCEMENT; I STARTED HANDING OUT FIRST CLASS JACKETS. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE PLANE JOLTED OUT OF CTL. I SCREAMED ALONG WITH OTHER PAX; FLEW IN THE AIR COMING DOWN ONTO AN ARM REST WITH MY L SIDE. TOTALLY SHOCKED; I TRIED TO PICK MYSELF UP OFF THE FLOOR BTWN A PAX'S LEGS (TO GET TO MY JUMP SEAT AT 2R) WHEN ANOTHER JOLT OCCURRED; THROWING ME BACK UP AND ONCE AGAIN DOWN ONTO SEAT X WITH MY L WRIST BREAKING THE FALL AND THE PAX GRABBING ME IN HIS ARMS. AS I GAINED MY COMPOSURE; LOOKED IN THE AISLE TO SEE FLT ATTENDANTS BEING HELD DOWN IN AISLE BY PAX; I ACCESSED CABIN FROM MY JUMP SEAT. THERE APPEARED TO BE NO INJURIES. THERE WERE NO ANNOUNCEMENTS -- JUST QUIET. THEN #1 FLT ATTENDANT MADE HER ARR PA ON THE GND. WE WEREN'T SURE IF WE WERE IN HOUSTON OR AUSTIN. WE ASKED THE CAPT ABOUT THE LACK OF COM. HE SAID HE WAS SORRY. WE WERE MET BY AUSTIN POLICE AND THE MGR CUSTOMER SVC AUSTIN AND THE POLICE TOOK RPTS AND GAVE US ICE PACKS; BUT WERE NOT REALLY SURE WHAT TO DO REGARDING CONDITION OF FLT ATTENDANTS. THE STATION MGR HAD MAINT GO ON BOARD AS WE (#3 AND #1 FLT ATTENDANTS) RPTED THAT ARM RESTS WERE BROKEN DURING TURB. SEAT X BROKEN OFF; OTHERS BENT OR LOOSE. CATERERS CALLED REGARDING THE AFT GALLEY (CART BUCKLED AND FOOD WAS ALL OVER FROM CARTS). WE WERE TOLD BY PAX THAT PAX IN SEAT Y HAD HIT THE CEILING AS WELL; BUT HE QUICKLY DEPLANED. WE WERE NOT ABLE TO SPEAK TO HIM. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 470036: I WAS THE #1 FLT ATTENDANT. I FELL ON MY BACK. THE SECOND TIME THE TURB HIT; I FELL AGAIN ONTO MY BACK.
