AN ACR CREW FLIES WITHOUT A LEGAL REST PERIOD EVEN AFTER COORDINATING WITH COMPANY CREW SCHEDULING.

Narrative

I STARTED A 4 DAY TRIP. ON THE FIRST DAY; I ARRIVED AT THE LAYOVER STATION (SAN) LATE. THE ORIGINAL LAYOVER WAS SCHEDULED FOR 10+ HRS. HOWEVER; DUE TO DELAYS; I WAS REDUCED TO A 9 HR 25 MIN LAYOVER. THE NEXT DAY I RPTED FOR DUTY AT XB48. I FLEW TO LAS; THEN TO JFK; AND WAS RELEASED AT XD30. BLOCK TIME FOR THE FIRST DAY WAS 5 HRS AND DUTY TIME WAS 9 HRS 23 MINS. BLOCK TIME ON DAY #2 WAS 6 HRS 6 MINS AND DUTY TIME WAS 10 HRS 42 MINS. AFTER LEAVING THE ACFT AT JFK; I CALLED THE CREW SCHEDULING TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH COMPENSATORY REST WAS REQUIRED. THE SCHEDULER ON DUTY INFORMED ME THAT ONLY 11 HRS OF REST WAS REQUIRED. I INFORMED HIM THAT PREVIOUS CONVERSATIONS WITH SCHEDULING THAT AFTERNOON INDICATED THAT 12 HRS WAS REQUIRED. THIS EVENING; SCHEDULER WAS ADAMANT THAT ONLY 11 HRS WAS REQUIRED AND THAT I SHOULD RPT TO DUTY AT XB30 THE NEXT DAY. I; THEREFORE; RPTED FOR DUTY AT XB30. I FLEW THE SCHEDULED FLT TO LAS. AFTER LNDG; I WAS TOLD TO CALL SCHEDULING. I CALLED SCHEDULING AND WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED 12 HRS OF REST THE NIGHT BEFORE AND THAT I WAS BEING REPLACED FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE TRIP. SCHEDULING ALSO INFORMED ME THAT THEY KNEE OF THE ERROR PRIOR TO OUR FLT LEAVING JFK. BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO GET JFK OPS IN ORDER TO STOP THE FLT; NOT WAS ANY ATTEMPT MADE TO SELCAL THE FLT PRIOR TO DEP ON THE COMPANY RADIO; NOR WAS ANY ATTEMPT MADE TO HAVE JFK ATC REQUEST US TO CALL THE COMPANY PRIOR TO DEP.
