B727 CREW EXPERIENCES 2 BLOWN TIRES ON LNDG.
Narrative
IMMEDIATELY AFTER LNDG ON RWY 12 AT IAD; THE 2 L TIRES BLEW AND ACFT SETTLED ONTO THE RIMS. ACFT SWERVED TO THE L AND WAS CORRECTED BACK TO CTRLINE. A LOT OF ACFT VIBRATION OCCURRED. PAX WERE KEPT SEATED AS NO ADDITIONAL PROBS WERE NOTED AFTER ACFT CAME TO A STOP. TWR CONFIRMED NO ADDITIONAL PROBS AS DID THE EMER RESPONSE CREW. PAX WERE OFFLOADED ONTO MOBILE LOUNGES AND XPORTED TO THE TERMINAL. PAX WERE CALM THROUGH INCIDENT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 520503: AT TOUCHDOWN; APPEARED R WING RISING. REALIZED L SIDE WAS LOW. ACFT STARTED DRIFTING L. CAPT CORRECTED TO CTRLINE. VIBRATION STARTED SHORTLY AFTER TOUCHDOWN AND INCREASED DURING ROLLOUT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 520507: TWR RPTS SEEING EXCESSIVE SMOKE ON TOUCHDOWN. FIRE TRUCKS RESPONDED AND RPTED NO FIRES BUT TIRES HAD COME OFF RIMS. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR ACN 520503 REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE FO; WHO WAS THE PNF; RPTS NO FEEDBACK FROM MAINT AS TO THE CAUSE OF THE PROB. HOWEVER; BOTH TIRES; AS RPTED BY PAX BLEW IMMEDIATELY AT TOUCHDOWN. THERE WAS SUSPICION THAT THERE MAY HAVE BEEN ANTISKID PROBS. THERE WAS NO XWIND OR SIDE-SLIP OF THE ACFT ON TOUCHDOWN.
