Narrative

AFTER TKOF LOST L HYD SYS. I WAS FLYING. CAPT HANDLED EMER WHILE I TOOK VECTORS FROM APCH. TOLD APCH NATURE OF EMER; SOULS AND FUEL. A LITTLE CONFUSION AS TO WHAT RWY WE WERE GOING TO GET BUT STRAIGHTENED IT OUT WITH APCH AND LANDED RWY 22L; SHUT DOWN ON RWY BECAUSE WE HAD NO NOSEWHEEL STEERING. WE GOT TOWED IN; EMER OVER. I DO NOT FEEL ANYTHING WAS DONE TO VIOLATE US; I'M JUST PROTECTING MYSELF. THANKS. PS. CAPT LANDED. PROCEDURALLY WENT WELL; SOMETHING THAT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER. WE COULD HAVE INITIALLY ASKED FOR THE LONGEST RWY THAT WOULD HAVE SOLVED A CONFUSION AS TO WHAT RWY WE WERE BEING VECTORED TO. ALSO ON LNDG; I WAS FIXED ON THE BRAKE PRESSURE SINCE IT STATED WE COULD POSSIBLY LOOSE PRESSURE ON NORMAL BRAKES IN OUR CREW OPS MANUAL. THIS CAUSED ME TO NOT SEE THAT THE SPD BRAKES DID NOT DEPLOY BY THEMSELVES. IT ALSO STATED IN OUR CREW OPS MANUAL THAT THEY MAY OR MAY NOT DEPLOY BY THEMSELVES. MY ATTN WAS MORE ON BRAKE PRESSURE AND I FORGOT TO SCAN THE SPD BRAKES. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE LOSS OF THE L MAIN HYD SYS PRESSURE AND QUANTITY WAS CAUSED BY A FAILED HYD PRESSURE LINE IN THE MAIN WHEELWELL. THE RPTR SAID IT WAS UNCLR IF THE FAILED LINE WAS A SOLID OR FLEXIBLE LINE.
