Synopsis

A B757-200 ON TOUCHDOWN THE AUTOBRAKES TRIPPED OFF. ANTI-SKID FAILED WITH EICAS MESSAGE AND AT 80 KTS THE BRAKES WENT TO FULL RELEASE AND FAILED A TOTAL OF 3 TIMES.

Narrative

AFTER TOUCHDOWN ON RWY 18R AT ZZZ THE AUTOBRAKES TRIPPED OFF AND SHOWED ON THE EICAS; THIS ALONG WITH THE ANTI-SKID MESSAGE. AFTER FULL REVERSE AND COMING OUT AT APPROX 80 KTS THE BRAKES WENT TO FULL RELEASE AND NO DECELERATION WAS OBSERVED. AFTER CYCLING THE BRAKES A FEW TIMES I WAS ABLE TO GET THE ACFT TO DECELERATE AND SLOW TO MINIMAL SPD. THIS BROUGHT US VERY CLOSE TO THE HOLD SHORT BARS ON RWY 18R ALTHOUGH WE WERE NOT GIVEN NOR EXCEPTED A LASHO. I TURNED OFF ON TXWY B; WHERE THE BRAKES RELEASED ON ME AGAIN. I USED THE SAME PROC AND CYCLED THE BRAKES AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. WHILE ARRIVING AT THE GATE THE BRAKES RELEASED ON ME AGAIN WHILE ON TAXIING 3 KTS; AGAIN CYCLING THE BRAKES WORKED AND WE PARKED AT GATE XX. BOTH ITEMS WERE PLACED IN THE MAINT LOG AND REPEATS OF ONE OR MORE WERE NOTED. DURING THE CRUISE OF OUR FLT WE NOTIFIED DISPATCH AND ZZZ1 TECHNICIAN OF THE R ENG HIGH EGT AND N1. THIS WAS ALSO PLACED IN THE MAINT LOG WHEN WE LANDED FOR THE 4TH TIME. WHAT WAS THIS ACFT DOING ON ROUTING WITH 2 KNOWN PROBS. BOTH THE FO AND I HAVE COMBINED TIME OF ALMOST 4500 HRS IN TYPE OF ACR. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED WHEN COMING OUT OF REVERSE AT 80 KTS THE BRAKES WENT TO FULL RELEASE AND RELEASED AGAIN 2 MORE TIMES DURING THE TAXI TO THE GATE. THE RPTR SAID THE TERMINAL GATE AREA WAS CLRED OF PERSONNEL TO AVOID INJURIES. THE RPTR STATED ON A REVIEW OF THE LOGBOOK THIS BRAKE SYS WAS RPTED 3 TIMES AND WAS A CHRONIC MAINT ITEM. THE RPTR STATED WHEN SUBMITTING THE RPT A REPLY FROM MAINT WAS REQUESTED ON THE CORRECTIVE ACTION BUT NO ANSWER WAS RECEIVED.
