A CARJ CREW; AFTER LNDG AT CYYZ; CROSSED THE HOLD SHORT LINE OF THE PARALLEL AFTER BEING CLRED TO HOLD SHORT.
Narrative
AFTER LNDG ON RWY 6R AT TORONTO; CANADA; I CROSSED THE HOLD SHORT LINE FOR RWY 6L WHICH WAS AN ACTIVE RWY. I WAS ABLE TO STOP SHORT OF THE RWY ONCE I REALIZED MY MISTAKE. I AM USED TO OPERATING AT ATL ARPT WHICH ALSO HAS PARALLEL RWYS. HOWEVER; THERE IS A PARALLEL TXWY IN BTWN THE PARALLEL RWYS IN ATLANTA. THERE IS NO PARALLEL TXWY IN BTWN RWY 6L AND RWY 6R IN TORONTO. AS I CLRED RWY 6R; I MISTAKENLY PERCEIVED RWY 6L TO BE A TXWY. I THINK I COULD HAVE AVOIDED THIS SIT BY PAYING MORE ATTN TO THE ARPT LAYOUT CHART IN MY COMMERCIAL CHARTS. I ASSUMED I WOULD PULL OFF THE RWY AND ENTER A TXWY WHICH WAS NOT THE CASE. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 564222: WHILE THE CAPT WAS TAXIING; I WAS COMPLETING THE AFTER LNDG FLOW AND CHKLIST. I FELT THE ACFT COME TO AN ABRUPT STOP; AND THE CAPT ASKED ME; 'IS THAT A RWY? WHAT RWY IS THIS?' I LOOKED UP AND SAW THAT WE HAD CROSSED THE HOLD SHORT LINE FOR RWY 6L. THE TWR CTLR MUST HAVE NOTICED; BECAUSE I HEARD HIM INSTRUCT A TURBOPROP TAKING OFF ON RWY 6L TO ABORT. TWR REMINDED US; STERNLY; THAT WE HAD BEEN INSTRUCTED TO HOLD SHORT; BUT TO GO AHEAD AND CROSS AND THEN CONTACT GND. PERHAPS IF I HAD BEEN HEADS UP INSTEAD OF RUNNING A CHKLIST; I COULD HAVE NOTICED OUR IMMINENT INCURSION; AND REMINDED HIM TO STOP AND HOLD SHORT.
