A B757 FLT CREW DOES A GAR DUE TO WINDSHEAR; RECEIVES MISSED INSTRUCTIONS; THEN EXPERIENCES LOST COM. THE FLT CREW DECIDES TO ENTER HOLD AND THEN RE-ESTABLISHES COM AND LANDED SAFELY.

Narrative

ON FINAL APCH; WITH THE RWY IN SIGHT; THE ACFT JUST AHEAD OF US EXECUTED A MISSED APCH. THE CTL TWR OPERATOR ASKED THAT ACFT FOR THE REASON FOR THE MISSED APCH. THE PLT OF THAT ACFT SAID THAT THERE WAS SOME CONFUSION ON THE WINDS. WHEN WE WERE AT 700 FT ON THE GS; WE GOT A WINDSHEAR WARNING. WE PRESSED THE GAR SWITCH AND POSITIONED THE THRUST LEVERS TO FULL FORWARD AND WENT AROUND. WE WERE CLRED VIA RWY HDG AND TO MAINTAIN 2000 FT. WE NOTICED NO FLUCTUATION IN THE AIRSPD DURING THE APCH; AND AS SOON AS WE INITIATED THE GAR; THE WARNING STOPPED. AS WE CONTINUED THE RWY HDG; IT BECAME APPARENT THAT THERE WAS A STUCK MIKE ON THE DEP FREQ. WE TRIED TO MAKE CONTACT SEVERAL TIMES. THE RWY HDG PUT US AT THE EXACT POINT TO ENTER A HOLD FOR THE MISSED APCH. I DECIDED NOT TO CONTINUE S ON RWY HDG WITHOUT COMS; DUE TO IT BEING AT NIGHT AND THE MOUNTAINOUS TERRAIN IN THE SEATTLE AREA; SO I STARTED A L TURN TO ENTER THE HOLDING PATTERN. ABOUT 1/2 WAY INTO THE TURN; JUST AN INSTANT BEFORE I WAS ABOUT TO TELL THE FO TO SQUAWK 7600; THE FO RE-ESTABLISHED COMS; AND WE WERE GIVEN RADAR VECTORS BACK TO FINAL FOR RWY 16R FOR A NORMAL LNDG.
