B757-200 FLT ATTENDANT WAS INJURED WHILE HURRYING TO HER SEAT FOR TKOF.
Narrative
PUSHED BACK FROM GATE IN LAS ON SCHEDULE WITH UNEVENTFUL TAXI FOR TKOF ON RWY 25R. 2 MINS PRIOR TO TKOF CHKLIST ITEMS WERE COMPLETED UP TO TAKING THE RWY AND I BEGAN MONITORING THE SAFETY VIDEO. IT WAS THE TAPE WITH COMBINED ENGLISH AND SPANISH. AT 1 1/2 MINS PRIOR TO TKOF WHEN THE TAPE BEGAN BRIEFING THE LIFE VEST; THIS WAS NOT AN OVERWATER FLT AND THE ACFT HAD NO LIFE VESTS ONBOARD. I GAVE THE PREPARE FOR TKOF PA. THE #1 FLT ATTENDANT CALLED AND SAID THAT THE VIDEO WAS NOT OVER. I INFORMED HER THAT THE LIFE VEST PORTION WAS NOT REQUIRED AND TO PREPARE FOR TKOF. BY THE TIME THAT CONVERSATION WAS OVER; THE VIDEO HAD COMPLETED. WE WERE STILL ON THE PARALLEL TXWY ABEAM B-2; AND WE WERE CLRED FOR TKOF. TAXIING VERY SLOWLY; WE COMPLETED OUR CHKS; TAXIED ONTO RWY 25R AND COMMENCED THE TKOF. AFTER TKOF AT THE END OF THE STERILE PERIOD; THE #1 FLT ATTENDANT CALLED AND NOTIFIED ME THAT ONE OF THE OTHER FLT ATTENDANTS HAD INJURED HERSELF RETURNING TO HER SEAT IN A HURRY. SHE LATER INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS THE #2 FLT ATTENDANT AND THAT SHE HAD POSSIBLY PULLED A MUSCLE IN HER THIGH BUT WOULD BE ABLE TO COMPLETE THE FLT WITHOUT FURTHER ASSISTANCE. WE WERE MET AT THE GATE BY THE ZZZ FLT SVC MGR ON DUTY. I SPOKE WITH HER AND TOLD HER WHAT HAD TRANSPIRED AND THAT I WOULD BE FILING A RPT AND TALKING TO ONE OF THE ZZZ CHIEF PLTS. I THEN SPOKE WITH A ZZZ CHIEF PLT IN THE FLT OFFICE AND NOTIFIED HIM THAT I WOULD BE FILING THIS RPT. LESSONS LEARNED; IN THE FUTURE; I WILL MAKE IT PART OF MY BRIEFING TO THE #1 FLT ATTENDANT THAT; IF THE FLT IS NOT OVERWATER AND WE ARE CLOSE TO TKOF; I MAY MAKE THE PREPARE FOR TKOF PA OVER THAT PART OF THE TAPE AND THAT WILL BE THEIR SIGNAL THAT WE ARE 1 MIN FROM TKOF. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 579031: I CONTINUED ON TO ATL ON THE SAME FLT AND NOTICED ALL OF THE FLT ATTENDANTS WERE THE SAME ONES ON OUR FLT FROM LAS.
