Narrative
I WAS THE CAPT ON A FLT FROM ZZZ TO ZZZ1 WITH AN INTERMEDIATE STOP IN ZZZ2. WHEN I ACCEPTED THE AIRPLANE UPON ARRIVING FOR MY SHIFT; MAINT PERSONNEL WERE WORKING ON THE ACFT. WE WERE LATE FOR OUR DEP WHEN MAINT BROUGHT OUR AFML (ACFT FLT MAINT LOG) AND I NOTICED CERTAIN FLT HRS UNDER THE MAINT BLOCK WERE NOT FORWARDED TO THE CURRENT PAGE. WHEN I ASKED THE MECH ABOUT THE CURRENCY OF THE PAPERWORK HE SAID HE WOULD HAVE THE TIME TO FIGURE IT OUT WHEN WE GOT BACK. THE 'SVC CHK' (EVERY 3 DAYS) WAS SIGNED OFF; BUT THE 'ROUTINE CHK' BLOCK WAS LEFT BLANK (A MORE EXTENSIVE MAINT CHK). WITH WX AT DEST/DEP POINTS; HVY RAIN TURB; MY MIND WAS BUSY WITH OTHER THINGS; AND EVEN THOUGH THE MECH VERBALLY TOLD ME IT WAS TAKEN CARE OF; I DID NOT PHYSICALLY CHK THE BOOK (AFML). AIRBORNE; ON THE LAST LEG OF THE NIGHT; OUR PLTS FORWARD ALL FLT AND MAINT HRS IN OUR AFML; I NOTICED WE HAD NOT RECEIVED NEW TIMES; AND THE ACFT; WHEN LNDG; WAS OUT OF MAINT ROUTINE CHK BY 1.1 HRS. WHEN I LEFT; WE WERE WITHIN 1 HR OF NEEDING THIS ROUTINE CHK; AND I DEPARTED FOR A 2 HR FLT. I SUPPOSE I MIGHT HAVE CAUGHT THE PROB IF I WASN'T DISTRACTED FROM FLYING IN SUCH INCLEMENT WX; AND HADN'T 'TRUSTED' OUR MECH. I AM WRITING THIS AS THE ACFT IS BEING FERRY-FLT TO A MAINT BASE.
