Narrative

SCHEDULED TO FLY MCO-PHL-LAS. ON ARR PHL; INVOLVED IN AN ACFT CHANGE FOR FLT TO LAS. ACFT TO LAS HAD AN MEL RESTR ON AIRSPD AND ALT WHICH WOULD REQUIRE STOPPING IN MCI FOR FUEL. INBOUND CREW HAD PUT MAINT WRITE-UPS IN THE LOGBOOK. I WAS WORKING WITH PHL MAINT TO CLR MAINT WRITE-UPS; DISPATCH ON OUR FUEL STOP; AND COMPLETING THE FOLLOW-UP REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MEL WE WERE OPERATING UNDER. FLT WENT SMOOTHLY INTO MCI WHERE I WAS COORDINATING WITH MCI OPS FOR OUR FUELING AND CATERING NEEDS FOR A QUICK TURN IN MCI. AFTER DEPARTING MCI AND ENTERING THE RESCHEDULED FLT WITH AN MCI FUEL STOP; I REALIZED WE HAD BEEN SCHEDULED FOR AN 8 HR 15 MIN FLT TIME DAY. I WAS SO BUSY COORDINATING EVERYTHING IN PHL AND MCI THAT I NEVER EVEN THOUGHT ABOUT THE ADDITIONAL FLT TIME. SCHEDULING; DISPATCH; OR I SHOULD HAVE CAUGHT THIS SOONER. MY LAST FEW FLTS THROUGH PHL HAVE INVOLVED OPERATIONAL IRREGULARITIES. I WAS SO BUSY TRYING TO ENSURE ALL OF THAT WAS TAKEN CARE OF THAT I DIDN'T EVEN THINK ABOUT FLT TIME. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 598682: AT MCI; CAPT ADVISED ME WE WOULD HAVE OVER 8 HRS FLT TIME; AND WE WERE BOTH UNSURE OF LEGALITY IN THIS MATTER. BUT AS A RESULT OF THE MEL; THE EXTRA FLT TIME SAW US WELL PAST THE 8 HR MARK. THE DAY WAS ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED FOR 7 HRS 46 MINS.
