Narrative
WE DID A 1 PERSON PUSHBACK AT MIAMI. AFTER PUSHING BACK; PUSHBACK DRIVER INSTRUCTED ME TO SET PARKING BRAKE. I WAS JUST PUSHING DOWN ON THE BRAKES; AND ABOUT TO SET THE PARKING BRAKE HANDLE; WHEN THE ACFT WAS ABRUPTLY MOVED AGAINST THE FORCE OF THE BRAKES. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE PUSHBACK DRIVER ON FLT INTERCOM TO SEE WHAT HAD HAPPENED. HE ASKED ME IF THE BRAKES WERE SET; AND I RESPONDED THAT I WAS ABOUT TO SET THEM; AS HE HAD ASKED ME TO. HE REPLIED TO ME THAT HE DID NOT INSTRUCT ME TO SET THE BRAKES; BUT TO START THE ENGS. WE DID NOT HAVE ANY MORE DISCUSSION OF WHETHER HE HAD SAID OR HADN'T SAID TO SET THE BRAKES. AT THIS POINT; I CALLED THE PURSER TO FIND OUT IF OUR INFLT CREW AS ALRIGHT. SHE CHKED WITH ALL THE CREW (5 FLT ATTENDANTS) AND 3 HAD BEEN HURT. WE WERE PREPARED TO RETURN TO THE GATE; TO HAVE THE CREW CHKED; BUT THEY DID NOT FEEL THAT THEY NEEDED THIS. A MAINT SUPVR CAME OUT TO CHK THE NOSEWHEEL AREA WHILE WE STARTED OUR ENGS. EVERYTHING APPEARED NORMAL; AND WE HAD DRIVER DISCONNECT HEADSET. TAXI OUT AND REST OF FLT WERE NORMAL. ALL FLT ATTENDANTS WERE ABLE TO ACCOMPLISH THEIR DUTIES ON THE FLT TO LAX. WE ASKED TO HAVE AN INFLT SUPVR MEET THE FLT ON ARR IN LAX.
