Narrative

AFTER TKOF AND WHILE ON THE ASSIGNED 170 DEG HDG; TWR HANDED OUR FLT OVER TO DEP CTL. DEP CTL GAVE US A 230 DEG HDG; CLB TO FL230. ESTABLISHED ON THE 230 DEG HDG AND CLBING THROUGH AROUND 11500 FT; RECEIVED TCASII TA. AT 12500 FT; RECEIVED TCASII RA 'DSND.' WE COMPLIED WITH THE TCASII RA. TCASII WAS LEVELED AT 12000 FT AND TCASII RA REMOVED. WITH ANOTHER ACFT AHEAD OF US RPTING SAME TCASII SIT; WE WERE FINALLY ABLE TO ADVISE ATC OF OUR TCASII RA AND CURRENT ALT. WE SAW OPPOSITE DIRECTION BE190 AT 13000 FT. FLT CONTINUED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 617684: AFTER CLBING THROUGH 12000 FT WE PICKED UP TFC ON TCASII DSNDING THROUGH 15000 FT AND WERE GIVEN A SPD RESTR OF 250 KTS AND A HDG OF 350 DEGS. AT THIS POINT WE HAD AN RA ON THE TCASII WITH THE CONFLICTING TFC DSNDING ON THE ARRS ITO DEN. THE PROB WITH THIS CLOSE CALL WAS THE VECTOR INTO THE ARR CORRIDOR AND THE CLB TO FL230. THE PROB WAS EVEN MORE PRONOUNCED WITH ATC DIRECTION TO SLOW TO 250 KTS WHICH INCREASES INITIAL RATE OF CLB RESULTING IN LITTLE EFFECT ON SEPARATION.
