Synopsis

A CANADAIR CL65 CREW AFTER PARKING ON GATE AT ZZZ WAS ADVISED BY MAINT OF L INBOARD TIRE FAILURE. ACFT INCURRED ENG DAMAGE.

Narrative

UPON ARR AT GATE IN ZZZ; LINE MAINT INFORMED US OF A L INBOUND TIRE BLOWOUT. UPON POSTFLT INSPECTION; THIS WAS CONFIRMED. AFTER MAINT DID AN INSPECTION; ENG DAMAGE WAS CONFIRMED. WE RECEIVED NO INDICATIONS FROM THE TWR THAT THE TIRE HAD FAILED NOR THAT THERE WAS ENG DAMAGE. WE ALSO CONTACTED GND CTL ABOUT TIRE MATERIAL THAT WAS POSSIBLY ON THE RWY OR THE TXWYS. MORE DETAILS: WE EXPERIENCED A NORMAL FLT FROM START TO FINISH. THE FO INFORMED ME THAT HE DID A PREFLT AND THAT THE TIRES WERE SAFE FOR FLT. NO ABNORMALITIES WERE FELT IN ANY PHASE OF TAXI OR FLT NOR WERE THERE ANY INDICATIONS THAT THERE WAS ANY ENG ABNORMALITY. WHEN WE ARRIVED AT THE GATE IN ZZZ; THE LINE MAINT PERSONNEL NOTICED THE TIRE AND THE DAMAGE. I WROTE UP THAT THE TIRE (L INBOARD) HAD FAILED. AFTER CALLING MAINT FROM THE HOTEL; THEY INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS POSSIBLE ENG AND FUSELAGE DAMAGE. AFTER INSPECTIONS WERE DONE AND I AWAKENED; I AGAIN CALLED COMPANY MAINT. THEY TOLD ME ONLY ENG DAMAGE HAD OCCURRED; NOT FUSELAGE DAMAGE. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THAT HE COULD NOT TALK ABOUT THE INCIDENT. THE RPTR STATED THAT HE DID NOT KNOW WHEN THE TIRE FAILED AND THE ENG DAMAGE WAS INCURRED.
