AFTER ADJUSTMENTS TO TKOF PARAMETERS WITH AN OPEN MEL ITEM RELATED TO THE FLT AUGMENTATION COMPUTER; TKOF ABORTED BY A B757 PIC PASSING 100 KTS AT BWI; MD.

Narrative

WE WERE OPERATING A FLT FROM BWI. ACFT HAD MEL 22-30-1 OPEN IN THE LOGBOOK. WE REVIEWED THE MEL COLLECTIVELY AND ELECTED TO USE FULL TKOF RATED THRUST DUE TO IMC AND TSTMS IN THE AREA. AFTER A NORMAL TAXI TO THE ACTIVE RWY; WITH MINOR TFC DELAYS; WE WERE CLRED FOR TKOF. THE FO PUSHED UP THE THROTTLES AND CALLED 'CHK PWR.' I TOOK CTL OF THE THROTTLES; SET 1.77 EPR; AND STATED 'PWR SET;' N1 WAS APPROX 92%. I CALLED 100 KTS. SHORTLY THEREAFTER; I CALLED 'REJECT;' AFTER OBSERVING THE L ENG EGT GAUGE ILLUMINATE AMBER. I TOOK CTL OF THE ACFT. THE FO INFORMED TWR OF THE RTO. I CALLED FOR THE RTO CHKLIST AND REQUESTED THE FO TO CALL FOR EMER RESCUE COVERAGE TO RESPOND. AFTER COMPLETING THE RTO CHKLIST WE CLRED THE RWY AND CHKED BRAKE COOLING REQUIREMENTS. AFTER THE ALLOTTED COOLING PERIOD AND ALL APPROPRIATE CHKLISTS HAD BEEN COMPLETED; WE RETURNED TO THE GATE. I MADE THE APPROPRIATE LOGBOOK ENTRY AND TURNED THE ACFT OVER TO MAINT. IT WOULD APPEAR THAT THE MEL FORMAT COULD BE WRITTEN WITH MORE CLARITY WITH THE 'NOTE' PERTAINING TO THE PARAMETERS IN A MORE APPROPRIATE POS.
