A B757 FLT ATTENDANT RPTED A TURB ENCOUNTER AFTER DEP FROM MCO CAUSED HER TO BE INJURED.

Narrative

AT APPROX 18000 FT (AFTER TKOF) DURING CLBOUT; OUR ACFT EXPERIENCED SUDDEN AND ABRUPT TURB. AFTER 2ND CHIME; I WAITED TO GET OUT OF MY JUMP SEAT; DUE TO OUR STEEP ATTITUDE. IT OCCURRED 15 MINS AFTER TKOF; AS I WAS SETTING UP MY BEVERAGE CART AT THE ROW 2L/2R GALLEY AREA. I DID NOT PULL THE CART OUT; I ONLY BEGAN TO PREPARE. THE ACFT TOOK A SUDDEN DROP/DSCNT AND I WAS FORCED TO THE FLOOR AND LANDED ON MY BEHIND. MY ELBOW AND SHOULDER HIT THE BULKHEAD AT ROW 2L. I CRAWLED TO SIT IN THE XC SEAT WHICH WAS UNOCCUPIED. I BUCKLED THE SEAT BELT AND REMAINED SEATED IN XC UNTIL THE CABIN STOPPED BOUNCING AROUND. THE CAPT PHONED BACK; USING THE INTERPHONE AND TOLD US TO REMAIN SEATED AND TO FIND OUT IF WE WERE HURT. I WAS TOTALLY UNAWARE THAT THERE WAS SEVERE WX IN THE AREA. I WAS TOTALLY UNAWARE THAT WE WOULD BE GOING IN AND OR AROUND TSTMS. INFO WAS INADVERTENTLY KEPT FROM THE CABIN CREW; OR WAS NOT MADE AWARE TO ME. I WOULD HAVE REMAINED STRAPPED IN MY JUMP SEAT; AS I DO IF INFORMED PRIOR TO DEP; OF ANY EXPECTED TURB IN AND AROUND THE AREA.
