A CL65 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH A L PYLON ACCESS PANEL NOT INSTALLED. THE PANEL WAS REMOVED FOR BORESCOPING AND NOT REINSTALLED.

A CL65 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH A L PYLON ACCESS PANEL NOT INSTALLED. THE PANEL WAS REMOVED FOR BORESCOPING AND NOT REINSTALLED.
Narrative
ON AUG/TUE/04; ACFT X ARRIVED IN THE EVENING FOR ROUTINE OVERNIGHT MAINT WHICH ALSO INCLUDED AN A-CHK. THE ACFT WAS TOWED INTO THE HANGAR AT ZZZ INTL ARPT. I WAS ASSIGNED ALL OF THE L-HAND ENG ROUTINE AND A-CHK PAPERWORK. I REMOVED ACCESS PANEL #412AT AS REQUIRED BY THE INSPECTION PAPERWORK. THIS PANEL IS LOCATED ON THE UPPER PYLON. I REMOVED THIS PANEL AND PLACED IT NEAR THE TRAILING EDGE OF THE PYLON (L-HAND). THIS VISUAL INSPECTION WAS THEN PERFORMED BY MYSELF AND INSPECTOR. NO DEFECTS WERE FOUND AND THE INSPECTION WAS SIGNED OFF. I THEN COMPLETED AND SIGNED OFF THE ADDITIONAL TASKS. THIS LASTED TILL THE EARLY MORNING HRS OF AUG/WED/04. THE ACFT WAS THEN TOWED OUTSIDE THE HANGAR FOR LEAK CHKS; FINAL OPS CHKS; AND GATE ASSIGNMENT; ALL OF WHICH WAS COMPLIED WITH. THIS WAS THE END OF MY SHIFT WITH SEVERAL HRS OF OVERTIME. ACFT X FLEW REVENUE FOR 3 DAYS WHEN IT ARRIVED BACK IN ZZZ FOR ROUTINE OVERNIGHT MAINT; ON AUG/FRI/04. A MECH PERFORMED A WALKAROUND; AND WHILE INSIDE THE AFT EQUIP BAY HE NOTICED A LIGHT THROUGH THE L-HAND PYLON. IT WAS AT THIS TIME ACCESS PANEL #412AT WAS DISCOVERED MISSING. THE LOGBOOK WAS THEN REVIEWED AND SHOWED AN A-CHK WAS COMPLIED WITH ON AUG/WED/04. THE MECHS ON SHIFT CALLED ME AT THE HOUSE SINCE I PERFORMED THE L-HAND ENG A-CHK TASKS. IT WAS AT THIS TIME THAT I REALIZED I MAY NOT HAVE INSTALLED ACCESS PANEL #412AT WHICH WAS AGAIN PLACED AT THE TRAILING EDGE OF THE L-HAND PYLON. IT IS CURRENTLY XA00 ON AUG/FRI/04; AND I AM DISCLOSING THIS INFO TO EXPLAIN WHAT PROBABLY IS THE CAUSE OF A MISSING PART TO ACFT X. THIS IS NOT A SERIALIZED PART BUT IS REPAIRABLE AND EXPENSIVE. THIS IS TO HELP MY COMPANY WITH PAPERWORK ISSUES THAT NEED TO BE COMPLETED SO THAT ACFT X CAN BE PUT BACK INTO AN AIRWORTHY CONDITION WITH AS FEW DELAYS OR CANCELLATIONS AS POSSIBLE; SINCE THERE IS NO PART REMOVED ON HAND.
