B757-200 CAPT HAD HIS LEGAL REST INTERRUPTED BY AN ASSIGNMENT FROM THE CREW DESK.
Narrative
I HAD FLOWN ALL NIGHT; LNDG SEP/THURS/04; AROUND XA00. I DROVE HOME; TRIED TO NAP; THEN WENT TO BED THAT NIGHT LATER THAN I WANTED DUE TO TEENAGERS COMING AND GOING. IT IS BECOMING MORE AND MORE DIFFICULT FOR ME TO SLEEP THROUGH THE NIGHT; ESPECIALLY AFTER FLYING ALL NIGHT THE NIGHT BEFORE. I WOKE UP A MINIMUM OF 4 TIMES THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT; LAYING AWAKE FOR OVER 1 HR TWICE. AT XA15; ONE OF MY CHILDREN GOT UP TO GET READY FOR SCHOOL. SINCE I HADN'T BEEN HOME IN 4 DAYS; I GOT UP TO SPEND TIME WITH HER AND HELP GET HER TO SCHOOL ON TIME. MY SON ALSO NEEDED A RIDE THAT MORNING SO I GAVE HIM A RIDE. WHEN I GOT HOME I REALIZED THAT I STILL NEEDED SLEEP. I CHKED THE COMPANY COMPUTER TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY OPEN TRIPS; THERE WERE NONE; AND WAS JUST HEADED TO BED AROUND XA00 TO TRY TO NAP WHEN MY PHONE RANG. IT WAS THE CREW DESK WITH AN ASSIGNMENT. I TOLD HIM TO PUT ME DOWN AS FATIGUED. I THEN WENT TO BED AND ATTEMPTED TO NAP. I WROTE AN 'FSAP' ON AUG/MON/04; AFTER FLYING ALL NIGHT; HAVING OUR ILS RADIO FAIL; AND THEN FLYING A VOR APCH INTO LAX THAT WE LATER REALIZED WAS AN EXPIRED APCH. THAT ERROR HAS REALLY UPSET ME. I FEEL THAT I HAVE PUSHED HARD TO GET THROUGH THE SUMMER SCHEDULE. I WILL NOT PUSH MYSELF ANYMORE AFTER MAKING THE APCH CHART ERROR. I WILL NOT START AN ASSIGNMENT FATIGUED.
