Narrative
JUST PRIOR TO DSCNT; WE RECEIVED EICAS STATUS MESSAGE 'FLAP/SLAT ELECTRICAL.' NO ACTION ADDRESSED IN ABNORMAL CHKLIST OR MEL. WHILE BEING VECTORED IN RADAR PATTERN; EICAS CAUTION RECEIVED FOR TRAILING EDGE FLAP ASYMMETRY AND TRAILING EDGE FLAP DISAGREEMENT. WHEN FLAPS WERE EXTENDED TO 1 DEG; FLAP INDICATOR INDICATED FLAPS BTWN UP AND 1 DEG POS. WE BROKE OFF APCH AND RECEIVED RADAR VECTORS WHILE I; AS PNF; REFERRED TO ABNORMAL CHKLIST FOR FLAP ASYMMETRY. PF (CAPT) CONCURRED FLAP ASYMMETRY CHKLIST. THAT CHKLIST DIRECTED US TO FLAPS UP LNDG CHKLIST. CAPT NOTIFIED COMPANY AND DECLARED EMER. WE LANDED UNEVENTFULLY AT DEST WITH NO FLAPS. TOUCHDOWN SPD 167 KTS. CLRED RWY WITH NO FURTHER DISCREPANCIES; TERMINATED EMER; AND TAXIED TO GATE. ACFT WAS GIVEN TO MAINT. THEY ULTIMATELY REPLACED L FLAP POS XMITTER AND FUSE CTL BOX. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE CAUSE OF THE PROB WAS FLAP POS INDICATION. THE RPTR SAID MAINT REPLACED THE L FLAP POS XMITTER AND THE FLAP SLAT ELECTRONIC UNIT. WHEN ASKED BY THE ANALYST IF HE EVER EXPERIENCED B757 FLAP TROUBLE BEFORE THE RPTR STATED NO. THE RPTR STATED FLYING EXPERIENCE ON THE B757 WAS LIMITED TO 1 YR.
