Narrative
THE DEP CLRNC WAS NOT CLR. WE CONTACTED DELIVERY TO DISCUSS. AFTER PUSH; RAMP TWR TOLD US TO FOLLOW THE B737 TO THE SPOT. I THEN PROCEEDED IN A HEADS DOWN POS TO GET CAUGHT UP ON THE FMS AND ACARS. WHEN I WAS FINISHED AND CAME BACK TO A HEADS UP POS I NOTICED WE WERE BEHIND THE B737 ON THE TXWY. I ASKED IF HE HAD CALLED GND. HE REPLIED THAT HE DID NOT; SO I SWITCHED TO GND AND NOTIFIED THAT WE WERE UP AND APOLOGIZED FOR PROCEEDING BEYOND THE SPOT. THE FAILURE OF SITUATIONAL AWARENESS; I THINK WAS CAUSED BY SEVERAL FACTORS. CAPT WAS STILL THINKING ABOUT THE DEP PROC. HE WAS MONITORING MY INPUT OF THE FMS AND ACARS. I DID NOT STOP OR I DID NOT ASK THE CAPT TO STOP TO ALLOW ME TO GET CAUGHT UP. FO AND CAPT DID NOT CONFIRM THE CLRNC; FOR TAXI WITH RAMP TWR; WITH EACH OTHER. THE FAILURE TO MONITOR OUR TAXI. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 632761: IT WAS MY LAST LEG OF 2 DAYS WITH A NEW HIRE FO. I HAD FELT LIKE I WAS CARRYING THE LOAD OF BOTH CREW MEMBERS AT SEVERAL TIMES DURING THE PERIOD OF BOTH DAYS. PERHAPS KNOWING IT WAS GOING TO BE A SHORT TAXI; PLUS HIS SLOW PERFORMANCE THAT GOT ME TO PAY TOO MUCH ATTN IN THE WRONG AREA.
