A B757-200 RECIRCULATION FAN TRIPPED OFF FOLLOWED BY BOTH PACKS TRIPPING. EMER DECLARED; EMER DSCNT COMPLETED AND DIVERSION TO AN ALTERNATE ARPT.

Narrative

IN CRUISE AT FL350 THE R RECIRCULATION FAN TRIPPED OFF. WE ACCOMPLISHED THE CHKLIST AND CONTINUED WITH THE FAN OFF. ABOUT 40 MINS LATER; THE R PACK TRIPPED OFF FOR HIGH TEMP. WE STARTED THE CHKLIST WHEN ABOUT 1 MIN LATER THE L PACK TRIPPED OFF. THE CABIN ALT STARTED A SLOW CLB. WE DONNED OUR OXYGEN MASKS AND CONTACTED NEW YORK COMRDO DECLARING AN EMER REQUESTING AN IMMEDIATE DSCNT. I MADE A PA EXPLAINING THAT WE WERE HAVING A PROB WITH THE PRESSURIZATION SYS AND THAT WE MIGHT HAVE TO DEPLOY THEIR OXYGEN MASKS. I REQUESTED THAT THEY FOLLOW THE FLT ATTENDANT'S INSTRUCTIONS. I ALSO TALKED TO THE PURSER EXPLAINING THE SIT. I CONTINUED TO MONITOR THE CABIN ALT WHEN IT APCHED 10000 FT. I RESET THE R PACK. THE CABIN THEN STARTED TO DSND. AFTER LEVELING AT 14000 FT; THE L PACK WAS RESET SUCCESSFULLY. WHEN WE WERE SURE EVERYTHING WAS STABLE; WE CLBED TO FL240 AND DIVERTED TO SAN JUAN. IN RETROSPECT; I FEEL THAT TO HAVE BEEN IN TOTAL COMPLIANCE WITH THE RED BOX ITEMS; I SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED THE PAX OXYGEN.
