AFTER LNDG ON LAS RWY 19R AN A320 TURNED R ON TXWY F AND WAS INFORMED THAT TXWY WAS CLOSED. LATER OTHER GA ACFT WERE TAXIED ON TXWY F.

Narrative

AFTER LNDG ON RWY 19R LAS; HVY WITH SLIGHT TAILWIND INDICATING; I ELECTED TO ROLL PAST TXWY W EXIT; TO AVOID HEATING THE BRAKES; AS WE HAD ANOTHER LAS-LAX LEG TO FLY WITH THE SAME JET. I EXITED ON TXWY B WITH A R TURN; AND I COMMITTED TO A R TURN TO TXWY F WHEN TWR ISSUED TAXI INSTRUCTIONS TO USE TXWY H; THEN THERE WAS A BREAK IN XMISSION AND WE WERE TOLD TO CONTACT GND. WE SLOWED OUR TAXI AND THE GND CTLR SAID WE WERE ON A CLOSED TXWY; AND TO PROCEED TO TXWY W AND HOLD SHORT. GND THEN GAVE US CLRNC TO CROSS RWY 19R; NOT TWR; THEN TAXI VIA TXWY W; TXWY G; THEN TXWY B. AFTER WE CROSSED RWY 19R/L; A GROUP OF GA JETS WERE GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS TO TAXI VIA TXWY F TO THEIR RAMP. AFTER RE-READING ALL THE NOTAMS; ATIS AND REVIEWING THE CONSTRUCTION ZONES; WE FOUND NO MESSAGE THAT TXWY F WAS CLOSED; EVER CLOSED; NOR IS IT MARKED AS SUCH. TXWY H LOOKS TO BE VERY NARROW; AND I ASSUMED IT WOULD NOT BE UTILIZED FOR THE A320 ACFT. THIS IS THE REASON I CONTINUED MY R TURN AFTER EXITING RWY 19R. THE CONSTRUCTION AT LAS IS EXTENSIVE; CURRENTLY; AND I AM NOT TOO SURE THAT THE 10-8 IS COVERING ALL THE AREAS BEING EXPANDED/REPAIRED. THERE MIGHT BE ADDITIONAL AREAS THAT MIGHT NEED TO BE COVERED. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATED THAT HE WAS CONFUSED BY THE TAXI INSTRUCTIONS AND ACKNOWLEDGED THE 10-9 NOTE STATING 'TXWYS E AND F LIMITED TO MD11...ACFT LARGER THAN B757 PRIOR PERMISSION REQUIRED FROM DEPT OF AVIATION TO USE TXWY H.' HE FURTHER STATED THAT A VERY LARGE NUMBER OF GA ACFT WERE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RWY WAITING TO TAXI ACROSS AND UTILIZED TXWY F TO THE CPR FACILITIES. THE RPTR BELIEVES THE CTLR'S RESPONSE WAS MORE ABOUT HIS STRESS LEVEL THAN THE CREW'S TAXIING LOCATION. CONFOUNDING THE PROB IS THE GREAT DEAL OF CONSTRUCTION OCCURRING ON THE E SIDE OF RWY 19R THAT WOULD HAVE PRECLUDED THE RPTR FROM USING THAT SIDE OF THE ARPT TO TAXI ONCE HE HAD TAXIED BEYOND TXWY W.
