Synopsis

AN A320 HAD 2 CARRY FORWARD ITEMS ON COWLING RIVETS; LOOSE AND CRACKED HEADS. ITEMS HAD BEEN 'TIMED OUT' DUE TO INCORRECT LIMITS ENTRY.

Narrative

EVENT OCCURRED AT THE END OF MY SHIFT. I WAS CHKING MAINT QUALITY CTL; WHICH IS A QUALITY CHK OF DEFERRED AND CARRY FORWARD ITEMS. THIS IS AN ON-GOING PROC WHICH IS DONE THROUGHOUT THE SHIFT; AS ITEMS ARE ENTERED INTO THE COMPUTER SYS. 2 CARRY FORWARD ITEMS ON NOSE #X WERE IN QUEUE; CARRY FORWARD X FOR LOOSE RIVETS AND CARRY FORWARD X FOR 1/2 OF HEAD MISSING ON A RIVET. I CHKED BOTH ITEMS AND THEY WERE IN CONFORMITY WITH AMM MAINT TIP 71-002; WHICH THE AMT USED FOR THE REF. I ALSO NOTED THAT WITHIN THE 10 HR FLT LIMIT IN PARAGRAPH 1B WHEN VIEWING THE MAINT QUALITY CHK ON EACH ITEM I CHK THE LIMITS FIELD AND NOTICED THERE WAS AN IO; HOWEVER; DID NOT NOTICE THAT THE AMT ENTERED 'C' FOR CYCLE INSTEAD OF 'T' FOR TIME. THE PROB WAS DETECTED BY THE FLT CREW ON JUL/TUE/06 IN ZZZ; WHEN THEY NOTICED THE TEXT OF THE ITEMS INDICATED TO BE REPAIRED IN 10 FLT HRS AND IT HAD ALREADY FLOWN OVER THAT LIMIT. THE ACFT WAS TAKEN OTS AND REPAIRED. FACTORS: FATIGUE. THIS OCCURRED AT THE END OF A SHIFT; DURING WHICH I COMPLETED FLEET REVIEWS ON 3 FLEET TYPES.
