Narrative
ACFT WAS BROUGHT TO GATE FROM HANGAR. FLT ATTENDANTS ADVISED THAT THERE WAS A WATER LEAK IN THE AFT GALLEY. CALLED MAINT. MAINT ADVISED THAT A FITTING WAS LOOSE AND WOULD TRY TO TIGHTEN TO STOP LEAK OR WOULD HAVE TO SHUT OFF WATER SUPPLY TO ACFT. I TALKED TO MAINT SUPVR ON JETBRIDGE AND AGREED THAT SHUTTING OFF WATER WAS ACCEPTABLE IF BOTTLED WATER AND HANDY-WIPES WERE PROVIDED. MAINT SIGNED OFF LOGBOOK WITH ENTRY INDICATING WATER SHUT OFF. ENRTE FLT ATTENDANTS ADVISED THAT WATER DID NOT APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN SHUT OFF. WE ADVISED FLT ATTENDANTS TO SOAK UP WATER WITH BLANKETS AND ADVISE US OF ANY POSSIBLE ELECTRICAL ODORS. FO AND I DISCUSSED THE POSSIBILITIES OF WHY WATER WOULD STILL BE LEAKING AND FAUCETS IN THE LAVATORIES WOULD STILL BE OPERATING. I DECIDED TO CALL MAINT CTL AND EXPLAINED THE SITUATION. FLT ATTENDANT WAS PRIVY TO MY CONVERSATION WITH TECHNICIAN. I ADVISED THAT WE WERE 1 HR AND 15 MINS FROM OUR DEST ZZZ1 AND THAT WATER WAS STILL LEAKING. I EXPLAINED THAT FLT ATTENDANTS WERE CONCERNED AND ADVISED THAT OVER AN INCH OF WATER WAS ON THE AFT GALLEY FLOOR. TECHNICIAN ADVISED TO CONTINUE TO ZZZ1 BECAUSE NO VITAL COMPONENTS SHOULD BE AFFECTED. TECHNICIAN ADVISED TO USE BLANKETS TO SOAK UP WATER AND SHUT OFF PWR TO GALLEYS. I MADE DECISION WITH FO'S CONCURRENCE TO LAND AT ZZZ1. WE ADVISED FLT ATTENDANTS TO USE BLANKETS TO SOAK UP WATER AND THAT WE WERE TURNING OFF GALLEY PWR FOR THE REMAINDER OF FLT. TECHNICIAN ADVISED ZZZ1 FOR MAINT.
