Narrative
AFTER OUR FIRST ACFT WAS TAKEN OTS; WE WERE GIVEN THIS ONE THAT NEEDED OIL SVC IN THE L ENG. REVIEWING THE LOGBOOK SHOWED 150 PINTS OF OIL USED IN THE LAST 10 DAYS; TECHNICIAN WAS NOTIFIED AND ZZZ MAINT. IN THE LAST 3 DAYS 66 PINTS WERE USED. THE LAST FLT TOOK 9 PINTS; THEN THE NEXT NEEDED 14 PINTS THE SAME DAY AND A TURNAROUND FLT. 23 PINTS IN THE LAST 4 HRS. MAINT CTL SAID THEY HAD BEEN MONITORING THE USAGE AND IT WAS IN HIGH USAGE ALREADY OF 4 PINTS PER HR LIMIT. THE ENG WAS NOW USING 8 PINTS PER HR AND THEY SAID IT WAS STILL GOOD TO GO. MEANWHILE ALL PARTIES TRYING TO GET US TO TAKE THE ACFT; EXCEPT ZZZ MAINT AND MYSELF; I CHKED OUT THE ENG AND CLBED IN TO TAKE A GOOD LOOK. WHILE AT THE GATE AFTER TOPPING OFF THE OIL; THE ENG LOST 1 QUART WHILE WINDMILLING. THIS BEING AT NIGHT AND NOW LATE; I OBSERVED OIL LEAKING OUT ON THE TURBINE IN AFT SECTION. THAT WAS IT FOR ME; I RPTED MY FINDINGS AND PLACED THE ITEM IN THE LOG. WE REQUESTED ANOTHER ACFT AND FINALLY TOOK OFF APPROX 4 HRS LATER.
